Hi everyone thinking of upgrading my brake was thinking of using 350z will I need calipers hubs etc thanks Stephen

The discs are a straight fit, you will however require the calipers too, or alternatively but not as good is a bracket to use the stock calipers with the 350 discs. The 350 calipers are a more or less straight swap, you need to enlarge the bolt holes but that's it.

The rears are a faff and not really worth the headache of fitting them.

JFI, 350z rear callipers won't fit unless you're up for doing some serious modifications to your rear bracket. If you want a complete brake upgrade, then the R33/R34 GTR Brembo brake upgrades is a good one for street use. I never liked the idea of having miss-matched callipers, this is why I went that route.

The other good cost-effective upgrade would be the 370z Akebono setup. VERY worthwhile.

Just looked on ebay the r33/34 brake caplipar serious money so there out the window think I going to go with 350z 370z

.....and yes, they bolt straight on, no brackets, no nothing, discs and all.

Well just under £800 is a lot of money to me

Seeing as how, for peace of mind, the calipers would no doubt benefit from new seals and suchlike, I agree that it's a fair expenditure.

350Z Brembo front discs, adaptor brackets for the Z32 caliper and job's jobbed (like mine). :)

Do my calipers have "Brembo" printed on them? No.

Does my car stop better than it did before regardless? Oh yes.... :thumbup1:

Thanks were did you get the adaptor brackets from thanks Stephen

But when you factor in the cost of the nearly-new discs and pads that it has on them, it's actually a very good deal IMO. You're unlikely to get a 4 corner upgrade for anything less.

I'd do that with any callipers I'd buy regardless. Reconditioning is easy and seal kit costs are not that expensive.

It's worth pointing out, the stock brakes a pretty over critised. A healthy car should pull up in 130ft from 60, compare this to a modern focus 170ft at 70mph, not so shabby for a 25 year old car. The limiting factor isn't the brakes themselves but the grip available to them to transfer braking into stopping without locking up. If your stock brakes are pants, it's because they need a refurb...

The issue comes when you want to stop from higher speeds especially when it's repeatedly. A few hard braking sessions from 140mph and they will be cooked. Brake fade hits hard and you will have mush to stop with this, it's an almost foregone conclusion sooner or later.

The question is, do you want a car that stops in a safe manner at road legal speeds or do you need a set of brakes that will stop you from double road speeds repeatedly. The skyline brembos won't be enough for the later if it's serious work. So it depends on what you expect and require to pick the right brakes.

I agree. The stock brakes aren't too bad, but they still suck compared to say my 2015 pug 308gt, that thing makes your eyes pop. That's the kind of brakes one would expect from a sportscar of the zx's caliber, so no wonder many people complain and want upgrades :-)

Oh yeah, the way new cars stop is incredible. Even the cheap ones, my mrs Kia pulls your face off. However I don't think it stops any better, it's just a sharper application. Obviously stuff like your Peugeot new golfs etc pull up about 30% better than the zed. Best in mind though that the Ferrari testarossa, in its time was an incredible super car, the 1988 model didn't even have abs! With a far lower price tag a year later you could but a Z32 that had abs brakes and was only 0.3 seconds slower to 60... You ever driven a non servo assisted car? Old car brakes are naff

I've decided to rebuild the brake caplipar first new pads then go from there may be 350 front discs an new rear

i rebuild all 4 used uprated discs and pads and break booster brace new fluid and am still not happy with them. just dont cut it for me, the last 2 cars i had the porsche had brembos on it ans were just amazing and the lotus had some fancy carbon discs pads combo and were the best brakes i have ever seen in any car when you go from them to the z brakes you realise just how lame they are

That really depends on the design of the wheel at that size.

Took this photo yesterday, hasnt been used for couple of weeks hence rusty discs.Any idea if 350z dics calipers would fit these, looks plenty of room20151123_125711 (1).jpg

It's more to do with offset in your case. How much room have you got between spoke and caliper?

PS.....you do realise your tyres are narrower than stock?

Il have a look when its dryer at room between spoke/caliper...No idea these were narrower, its the size tyre i bought with car

350Z discs and calipers with 17" wheels yes. I had Skyline wheels on mine though.
