Drowning my troubles tonight people, 2 days before JAE my partner Bill was diagnosed with cancer, of course I did not want to go, but the measure of the man he is, ,he insisted, he even packed my bags. He was never going it was a girlie weekend. Those who met him at the LakeZ run will tell you what a great fella he is, he would have to be to handle me. Despite having been married for 27 years I was always really on my own, and besides my ex Bill is the only other man I have dated. So next week he goes in to have half his lung removed, nearly 20 years since he gave up smoking!!!, I am positive but its still a big operation. Also on Monday I go in to have an angiogram and possibly some stents fitted. I also knew this last week. So a shit week next week really. I dont normally put this stuff up here but feeling a bit sorry for myself tonight

Sad news Trish. Sorry to hear, but be strong from him as it'll help massively. He sounds like a gent too.

Thanks Simon, hes out with his pals tonight so thats how im having my little cry, for him im like granite, your such a nice person X

I know a couple of people close who are going through something similar, all you can do, is to be strong and think positively, the mind can be a great healer, dont wallow in what is a devastating blow, as it can eat you up, but face it head on and fight :thumbup1:

I hope you too, have a successful outcome from your angiogram and you know we are here for support and and sounding board anytime :thumbup1:

That's good that he's out doing the social thing. Fill his life with that and happiness and he'll be in a good mental place. :)

Sorry to hear this Trish. Hope all goes well next week. Stay strong:)

Sometimes it seems as if the easiest day was yesterday ?

Heres a wee thought... You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Thanks all, didnt have that much really, just cannot sleep, each word means a lot. X

Sorry to hear this Trish, but try to look on the bright side.. At least you've had a diagnosis and that they can do something about it, it would be a lot worse if the doctors didn't know what was wrong and left you hanging around worrying. The waiting bit is very nerve racking but you will be a stronger couple when you come out the other side. As regards the Angiogram, I was freaking out about my one but it's nothing to worry about, you don't feel a thing really, they go in through your right wrist, all you get is a kind of cool flush feeling and that's it, they can fit the stents the same way. Chin up Trish, we're here to support you, if you want to call down to Carlow for a coffe and a chat you are more than welcome, I think I'm all stocked up with tea, coffee, biccies and my daughter Caitlyn has just made some fresh Brownies:thumbup1:
