Hi guys, my names Tom and I've started to look at the 300's.

Previously had a Stagea Autech 260rs but it was a short lived love affair due to some diesel. So I'm currently down to my 172 Cup and an 86 Prelude.

Always had a soft spot for a 300 so I decided to sign up and start reading. Everyone seems friendly enough and a lot of my questions have already been answered.

Haven't quite decided if importing would be the best route to take at the moment, plus the import companies I've spoken to have given me rough quotes which aren't anywhere near each other.

One thing that is on my mind is that I'm not a short guy at 6' 5" and having never sat in one, will there be enough legroom?

Thanks in advance for any help.

B00m.

Welcome! I've got a LWB Jap import 300zx and I'm 6ft 3..... loads of room! My dads 6ft 6 and found it comfortable too. (Well in the front!)

There's a 98 midnight purple one just been put up. Looks nice

And the right price too if it came up next summer I would have it like a shot.

Thanks for the welcome guys.

I did read about the purple but auto is a deal breaker for me.

Manual, TT, Slick top, LWB, Some leather would be good but not a deal breaker, I think all the colours suit the car so I don't really have a favourite & No rust.

There seems to be a few for sale on various sites in the UK. There is a good number in Japan to look at but again the quotes are quite a distance apart, which makes you think about what sort of standard of car your getting from the cheaper quotes (£3.5k). The higher end quotes (starting at £7k) make me compare with UK costs with change to put things right.

So like I said Im just weighing up what would be best.

Slicktops are SWB only. I'd love a TT slicktop too but don't get your hopes up!

Ahhh I see.

Do people have many issues with leaks for the T Bar roofs? That was my thinking.

Thanks for the info.

I haven't much heard of it. Mine leak a little if I use a power washer, which is why I don't use a power washer :) Otherwise they're fine.

You can get replacement trim easily if there's any problems.

The bigger issue is the rust you can get with the Targa tops. That purple one could be converted to a manual. It's what I'd do with it, it is lovely.

Welcome to the club mate :thumbup1:

Relatively cheap then.

Do you have to have a certain number of posts before you can PM members or does it require paid membership or am I blind and clearly missing the buttons?

£10 (I think) subscription required before you have the PM facility.

Good luck with the sale mate.

No problem at all, at least you were able to find out you can fit in one. good luck in your search mate.

What's the difference between a Version S and R? Seen them in the auction houses in Japan, but can find my answer here.

Talking to an importer tonight. Obviously depends on what it actually fetches at auction at the time but one i picked out tonight, grade 4 with low miles his estimate was £5k landed or there abouts
