Anyone got a procedure I can use to check these.

 

I did have a burnt loom so something could be blown but I cant find any fuses or relays.

 

Also when I bypass the gearbox loom and connect the cables near the left headlight its still dead.

 

I know its not needed for the MOT but still like to fix it.

Not sure if this has anything to do with it but my cruise on off doesn't work, as I cant hear the relay click any longer.

reverse lights are led and nothing in the back has changed, I've checked the connections and they all look good.

hopefully getting the zed trailered home tomorrow from my garage so that gives me more time to work on her after work.

Yeh, I've seen that.

 

I have the correct pins and the cable to the gearbox is from wiring specialists so its a proper cable

rather than me splicing up a custom job.

 

Also if there was an issue in that cable I should still be able to turn them on at that plug.

So they share the same fuse; as my cruise also seems to be off too.

Yes it is weird to share the circuits that way? always was a quick check of mine when zeds had gear change issues or non working cruise control was to put it in reverse with ignition on but not running see if reverse lights came on, if they did not it was the same fuse for the box reverse lights and cruise.

If you'd have fitted the light up when they blow fuses you'd of seen that straight away Lee :cool3:.

Looks like my partially damaged cable going to the gear box is the fault.

 

The fuse was blown and soon as I put another in it blew that too.

 

So question now is how easy is it to get that loom out without dropping the gearbox ?

Reverse switch is quite high up the box, be easier to ease the loom tails to the switch down a little snip it off and run a clean pair up to the connector behind the drivers headlight.

yeh, but I don't know how bad the damage is !

 

It could have messed up my speed sensor too.

 

The cable has touched the exhaust and melted, I was hoping it was just one core of the cable exposed but it obviously more than that.

 

After looking at that pic again I may be able to cut the harness where the damage is and then repair it from there.
