Hi all, after a bit of advice regarding brakes. This has happend to me twice now,in the dry.I have braked hard from about 45mph and had brakes lock up,its an auto twin turbo with standard brakes. It has ABS??..any ideas what the issue could be??And what is the way foward regarding a decent brake upgrade?.Cheers all

Does the abs system do a self check when you start the car? Or has the bulb been taken out to hide a fault?

It should come on for about 5 seconds then go out if there's no fault. If you have no light then I suspect the bulb has been removed to hide a fault. Faulty abs system reverts bake to a normal brake system.

Well just popped down shops and take the 300 to see whats/what...ignition on before fireing the lights that come on from left to right..in red battery light, hand brake light..a couple of gaps.in orange what looks like engine management light, below these red hicas light.

The ABS warning light (orange background with "ABS" on my UK spec) should come on when turning ignition

key to the "ON" position without starting engine. This is the bulb check - to show that the bulb itself is working.

The ABS light will come on when a malfunction is detected when the engine is running.

Does you ABS light come on in the "ON" position without starting the engine?
