I know there are the usual key and barrel, kill switches etc. but I was thinking maybe try something different instead of key or a button.

What about a card. Like when you enter a hotel room. Surly there must be a way of wiring it up. Or combining a card and a start button.

Curious to find out what people have done.

I know there are also apps, to start your car from your smart phone. Doesn't really impress me. Still like to have something phisicall other then an app.

Any ideas no matter how crazy let's have em....

One of the coolest ways to open a 300ZX is with a mint condition original titanium key as supplied by Nissan:yes: (replicas arnt cool!)

I agree with the guys, if you start messing around with electrics to install keyless entry, it's just another way for your Z to Feck up your day!!

What about installing a starting handle

Although today is only 7 minutes old you have clearly won the "Funniest Post of the Day " award.

IMHO modern day ways to start cars is just stupid, it's all unnecessary and unreliable rubbish, a key has worked for many years!

Don't attempt to redesign the wheel!

keep it simple and reliable.

Then I'm pretty cool, I still have the original titanium key, along with the black and the red valet key, even got the 25 year old key pouch from the dealer in Germany :-D

But I do have a 2015 pug 308 GT line with keyless and start/stop. I have to say the push button start with the key in my pocket is pretty nice, no fettling with keys just get in and go :-) the start/stop technology is okay sometimes but can be a nuisance if you're trying to creep or hold back the car (mines auto) so it's nice to have the option of disabling it...

Big parts of my car look crap but atleast I have the key. Had to fit new locks alround but it was worth it:thumbup:

Then there's stop start technology  Some of you might like it but I drove a new Ford Focus with this feature a few weeks ago and just did not like it. What a palava

We have the new Fiesta Ecoboost with the start stop tech and I must say it takes a little getting used to but its great and does save fuel.

It also has the Anti roll back tech on it which is great for hill starts. Or are we just becoming a nation of lazy gits who are more than happy to see new car prices sky rocket because they are now full of features that are pretty cool sometimes but in reality would we rather do without and pay less for the car in the first place ???

I had a 15 plate Merc for a week and it had stop/start, found it a nuisance and turned it off every time I had to get in it which was another PITA.

It also had park assist which I did have a go at using but I was way too wary of bumping it or it bumping itself, which is more to the point :scared:.

My lads BMW as a slot for the key, I think you've then to push down the brake and the clutch pedal then press the start button - what the heck is all that about [pointless smiley].

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Yup - I hate it too.....

.....I have it on the SLK - but luckily there's a button marked "ECO" on the dash, so I just turn it off:wink:

On the upside, it brings the official CO2 emission figure way down - so a 3.5 litre v6 packing 308bhp only costs £205 p/x to tax!

Agreed - we have that on the Landrover. Bloody pointless that you have to put your foot on the brake as it's an auto - especially when in park, as it's sure aint going anywhere:lol:
