Hi all, I have spotted 2 loose connectors in my engine bay, can anyone tell me what they're for?

Thanks

could be related to HICAS ... guess it depends on the spec of your car...

electrical circuit diagrams for the engine bay are available and not too hard to follow..

Has it been converted from auto to manual ?

Hmm. Possibly? I don't actually know. The previous owner didn't mention it and as it's an import the transmission info on dvla is blank.

Would this explain the plugs then?

Egr and Aiv solenoid connections I expect.

Correct.

Yes !

No! It has NOTHING to do with the transmission.

Akita, your car has had its AIV and EGR system removed (as many Z32s have), these are the redundant connectors for those items which would have been bolted to the firewall to the left hand side of the brake servo.

I expect you will find another one or possible two on the other side. The other Aiv and possibly the PRV most people don't remove the PRV though.

Useful thread Akita, I was wondering the same when I connected my loom up the other day

These are the two on the passenger side and there is actually a third close by hidden away. My new loom came with it taped to the main branch so im presuming it's not to be used.....

Thanks. Just seemed odd to have a couple connectors... Not connected to anything. If this is a common thing though them hopefully this thread will help someone else out.

I haven't had a look for other connectors on the passenger side, I was actually looking for the right o2 sensor connector as I believe I have a fault with it, then came across these.

Very common. AIV (Air injection valve) and EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) are not required on our cars and most people remove them.
