Filled the car up there for the first time, however when I removed the filler cap there was a huge release of pressure. The pump then kept shutting off, so it took about five minutes to put in twenty liters or so. It could still be filled at a slow rate and drives fine.

 

Is there anything in particular that could cause this problem or should I just follow the usual route of investigation?

mine does that sometimes........ don't push the nozzle in so far and twist it to side a bit...... then she fills okay........ I think it is the pipe angle to the tank........ lol

If not then I have had the same problem since 2001...... lol

Same here my swb does it every time, bit of a twist and works fine.

Totally normal mate, as said turn nozzle to the side slightly and they fill up fine. some pumps are worse than others.

Yes mine is the same its awkward to get petrol in but easy to use it!

I've got the hang of it now by not fully inserting the nozzle. Only concern is, if I fill the tank will the nozzle still be able to shut off automatically?

mine does........ well it did the last time I filled her right up........ that was a while ago......... lol
