Hey guys just a quick one to say I received a aftermarket maf sensor as mine is going.

Bought for 60 quid and all I can say is its pants... idles from 1500 to 300 almost cutting out. Also it caused the fuel pressure to change from 2.5 bar to 3 bar randomly.

Sensing back straight away,

I know a lot of people know not to use them but for people who were thinking maybe... I wouldn't again. Get proper parts :)

God knows gary. Bought it from a proper website called

aahmotorsport.com based in Huddersfield.

Just to be sure, how do you know its pants? If you've had a suspect MAF and you've changed it out, have the symptoms now changed or is it possible the fault is else where?

Thinking about it. The raise in pressure was when the revs were very low and wanted to die so the fuel pressure increased to keep the car from dying

I'm fairly sure that fuel pressure I these cars is determined mechanically for the most part with the fuel pressure regulator on the plenum. How are you monitoring fuel pressure?

Bearing in mind you haven't had the car long now. Have you preformed the 6 p's?

yup fuel pressure depends on the vacuum applied to the regulator. its not electronically controlled in any way

I did testing on Chinese MAFs many years ago. They are "pants" in ways that only proper logging will tell you :)

The fuel pressure rose when the car was about to die at very low revs. It's monitored via a sard afr

Do you mean SARD AFPR (adjustable fuel pressure regulator), and the attached gauge?

The engine would have been under load when it was about to cut out (low RPM, medium-high load area in the fuel map). At this point, the FPCU will apply battery voltage to the pump, as opposed to 6v under idle conditions. This most likely will have accounted for the increase in pressure observed.
