I'm wanting your ideas really on what might improve the looks of my car (externally).

Generally, I think I looks pretty nice but as with everything, there's always more than can be done so I'm interested in what opinions people have.

Please don't be shy, I certainly don't take offence if others are keen and all that.

Here's a couple of pictures of the car:

Humongous improvement, love it! Just get the wheels sitting right in the arches and it'll be spot on

Thanks Eggs. I'm trying to get all the stuff I can do myself done first really but it's on the cards whenever I can buy the Front upper camber things from Z1

What camber setting are you running at the moment??

Should I look to paint the wing mirror backing plates and / or the trims at the bottom of the windscreens? I'm thinking Satin black the same as what I did the Tash. Be great to know what people think as I'm undecided

Always good to know whats wrong before you attempt to fix it.

If you know they look a little out then maybe a little packing shim will fix it. :thumbup1:

Anyone got ideas about the mirror plates and window trim?

Yes. Spray them all!

Anything that can stop trims and whatnot looking tired and/or tatty is definitely worth doing, Lee! :thumbup1:

It's mainly the wing mirror plates I'm not too sure on

They'll look so much tidier and will tie in with your new 'tache :)

Get on with them!!

The white tire lettering kind of detracts from your awesome polished paintwork mate. I think it draws your vision away from the paint and breaks up the view (if that makes any sense to anyone). It draws your attention much like a bad scratch/mark o the paint. I keep scrolling up to look at the pics and I just can't quite describe it properly. No offence meant or intended Lee. Have a look at the pics and see if you can see what i'm getting at. Awesome Polishing work though.

Thanks for the comments Richie. I know what I you (and others) mean about them but for some reason I really like it. I'll maybe wash it off at some point to see what I think. I need to have some cheesiness on it though lol

Happy Days!! they look really well, do you clear coat them also? I admire your DIY ness, I'd be afraid of messing it up.

Neen's gonna come after you with an axe when she sees what you've done to her garden furniture...!!

That looks really well (as usual) Si, what colour are those done in ??

Thanks dude. :)

It's actually a Toyota colour. I had the body shop match the original solid colour with a metallic equivalent, the same was used for my moustache.

Looks a million times better but now you need to blacken up the window rubbers :tt2:

  • Author

Yeah, I was debating on straying those too, but I didn't know how to take them off... I may spray them on the car one day though.

I just finished the last coat on the passenger side mirror

Definitely don't paint them! Rubbers flexible and it'll look arse in no time, I was thinking more like a rubber blackened that you use on tyres, not sure if those specific products are ok near glass though

remove the gay white letters on the tires mate...what do you think this is dukes of hazards.com:laugh:
