I'm wanting your ideas really on what might improve the looks of my car (externally).

 

Generally, I think I looks pretty nice but as with everything, there's always more than can be done so I'm interested in what opinions people have.

 

Please don't be shy, I certainly don't take offence if others are keen and all that.

this is currently ongoing, just had the front wing repainted. Will be getting the skirt done soon but probably when I have the new arch welded in

First i would get rid of that stupid 80's white tyre lettering :biggrin:

Thanks graham, I only just re-did the lettering lol.

I've been debating on the clear rear side markers, you you still illuminate them red?

You can buy them with bulb holders in and add an led bulb yourself, its only a certain amount/series of the red ones that didnt have them.

I find the white lettering detracts from the overall look and stealthy-ness of your car, but as we always say, its your car, do whatever makes you happy :thumbup1:

Imo a nice stillen front lip spoiler will sort it right out.

It lools really smart mate. A gloss black moustache area rather than flat (dark grey) black would make it a bit sharper.

 

The only place there xan be an improvement is your front bumper, and only an impul would be an improvement, don't go 99 spec on your car, it looks ace.

I've been in the minds about a 99 spec for a long long time,miss just sitting in a garage.

 

I did inanely agree on the moustache and again something I've been considering as the grey looks a little old. Then I think, should I do the wing mirror brackets too? I'm not too keen on the impul bumper though

It's been covered, but get that awful lettering off the tyres!!!

 

I like the rest, but I think a Stillen bumper extension would finish it off....again, that's already been mentioned. I'd also replace the whiteboard on the front with a regular UK sized number plate. Some new fog light lenses too would help freshen the front up.

 

Other than that, it's a good looking Z. :)

I think having side skirts it needs something on the front, can't picture the stilled lip, but agree it looks great as is.

Surprised no one as covered this Birdy.......get some white 8mm line tape for your swage line all around, methinks this'll compliment the tyre lettering so so well :biggrin:.

 

Then get one of those sun strips for the windscreen, I'd get your names put on it, think that'll look swell bud :thumbup1:.

I agree with the Stiller supporters a lip like the one on Richard Smiths car would look spot on with your side skirts. Subtle too. To at to Phutumsch es comment why not get a smokey and the bandit firebird decal on the bonnet.

Thanks everyone for your input so far. I can't really afford the stillen lip... Not an original one anyway as the shipping and import fees etc kill me but I may well keep an eye open for a second hand one.

 

What about a 99 spec front with the 99 spec lip on the bottom? I seen one of these that looked lovely imo on an 89 spec car.

 

So, at present we have:

 

Change the side markers to clear ones.

Get rid of the letter writing on the tyres (I'll consider this pmsl).

Change the front number plate (completely agree)

Colour the moustache (completely agree if the 89 spec bumper remains) - this could be a quick hit anyway.

 

In regards to the smoked repeated recommended by tony, I have some old UK blacks but I think I prefer the crystal clear ones tbh.

 

What about the headlights (normal 89 spec)? I have toyed th the idea of colouring the inside of them black (same colour as the car). Or chrome. Alteenatively, I have some 99 spec replicas just sitting around (again, either black or chrome).

You need something on the front if you wish to retain the skirts. The way the front bumper sweeps under makes it look like it sits about an inch higher than the skirts. This makes it look like something is wrong, like a splitter is missing. So the stillen lip would finish it nicely.

I actually don't like your wheels. I just don't feel they suit the car. The white lettering is very 70s and belongs on yank tanks.

That's about it really. The rest I like.

Thanks Stephen. I've been debating on new wheels but I knwo these ones were always a popular choice on zeds in the past. At least when I got them. I'm not so keep on multi spoke albeit there's a couple of cars in the forum that look great. Any suggestions? Maybe something like the ones baz used to have on the black zed (work equips)

It's difficult isn't it. I think I want new wheels too but I just don't know what.
