Sun 10th May.

My buddy Steve came over and spent an hour or so making some minor adjustments to the mapping as I drove up and down the A610 and also slowly on a local indust estate. Some improvement in the Z1 throttle bodies and linkage meant that tickover and light throttle settings on take off and crawling in (simulated) traffic needed adjustment. The main power settings are all fine from the original power map that Noel did.

Tues 12 May.

My carbon fibre bonnet had lots of horrible white patches where the coating had oxidised.

I wet flatted it all over with 600 grade and hit it with two coats of 2K laquer.

Its not perfect but it looks 100% better than it was I think..

You can see by the reflections what a lovely sunny day its been here

Just need to clean n polish tomorro and check fluids n pressure etc.

Im looking forward to the event now.

It will be interesting to see how many/few 300ZXs turn up:innocent:

And more interesting to see how few actually get out on track??

Where are all the big build big bhp cars????

Fingers crossed for my car Pete. Stock power but ready to hit the track. Il be there regardless, it's just the zed in question.

I'm in a different session to you lot, but providing I pass the noise test (will be close) I'll be on track,

mines a big bhp build lol, just the budgets not there ye, so it's going to be a long term build...

Not done with my na yet either....

I am planning to pop up to Japfest but will be in the main car park. It will depend on how knackered I get driving around Thruxton on Friday as to whether I make it. Japfest normally requires an early start!

I have a track pass going unused if you want to join the rest of the gang

My build is a daily driver at the minute. I'd like to make an event this year but don't know that I will. It drives me to Wattiaham air base and back and no further.

Good luck on track Pete, car looks ace :thumbup1:

Does anyone have times I've the Z session? I know there's been a delay in track passes, so we're picking them up on the morning I believe!

from the opening post on the main japfest thread

http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?179818-Japfest-2015-Deadline-for-ticket-payments-is-Wednesday-18th-March

Our track session is letter H which starts at 11:36 with a 10:30 briefing. Anyone wishing to take a passenger will have to buy a passenger ticket for £10 on the day. If you are going on track please read the rules on the Japfest website to avoid disappointment on the day.

Félicitations Monsieur SlickPete for the Bonnet finish! Very nice!

The two big bhp units in France are crying not to come to UK for such sessions...

I was putting the priority on Spa Classic for the three last years, and I will just have a tourist visit on Sunday the 24th this year with no track!

I have bad arrangements for the job having too much to deal with...

I hope the part retirement from next year on (supposely!) will leave more time to enjoy, and I really would like to come and visit your Japfest... and meet some of you guys!

Maybe next year?

Have a nice time, and bring back pictures and videos on here!

Hi Hubert it would be great to see you at a UK event so hope it works out for you next year.

Thanks Gary! Considering the possibility is the start to take the steps and have the chance to reach it!

It will cost you a beer... and I'll bring the champagne! :thumbup1:

It will cost me more than a beer Hubert as I live in Belfast Northern Ireland so I also have to take a ferry to get to a UK mainland show :) But it would be good to meet up and maybe some of us in the UK could do a trip to France or a Spa meet.

There aren't any big build big BHP cars on the road at the moment are there? :wack:

Hi mate, do you still have a track pass going?

James

I do indeed. If you want I can let the organiser know

Well mine is nearly there, just waiting on a date to come to you Noel so you can finish off the mapping. Won't be driving her until this is done.

I'm on a week off at the moment (well, week off from mapping at any rate).

Next week has been pretty full for some time.

So most likely the week after next (25th onwards).

I was only speaking about cars in France, Noz!

Now, wether they are 450, 500 or 550 bhp, after a few track sessions with both cars in Spa, I do not need more.

I am not looking for quarter mile runs, and we are not organised here with locations like Santa Pod.

Now, raising the question about tuning, I am sure that you could get another 100 bhp or more from them, considering the engine forged choices.

I was ready to consider this when picking the Boomin33 caged TT as I sent you a set of questions about a possible visit with the car at your premises.

24 October 2013 + 2 November 2013 + 9 November 2013 = Never got an answer...

In fact, AndrewG gave me a hand to look at the Boomin33 car on my visit one month later (Thanks again Andrew!), but we could just not get the engine running on all legs.

It took me a few winter months to get it sorted back in France, mainly around wiring and connectors.

If I can plan for some time in 2016 in UK, I will let you know... and hope I will hear from you when asked :dots:
