Hi all...just joined the forum....as I think I am hankering after a 300zx!....I have spent ages trying to decide if I liked the looks or not...and to be honest, its pretty stunning...doesn't look dated either...and I love that 80's back end!....only problem now is I already have 3 toys...and no spare room....I have an XJ-S, a 944 S2 and an E30 325I Sport...I might be persuaded to lose one ( or even 2) in order to gain a ZX!...But, for now, I am just going to educate myself a bit more on the cars.....as I am torn between SWB V LWB, auto V manual, standard body V modified....but I think I MUST have a twin turbo...:)

Welcome to the club mate.

You have come to the right place.

Personally I would go for a twin turbo manual, but I am a bit biased.

Good luck with your search.

Where abouts in the west midlands by the way?

Hello & welcome :)

Goood luck in your search. Got any pics of the Jag? (....and the BMW, and why not the 944 as well!)

Hi mate...cheers...the 944 is just having new engine seals / cam and balance shaft belts / and a few other bits and pieces...so I am more like to keep that one for a bit...the other 2 are just sitting at at the moment....

I love both my Jag and Nissan wish the Jag was an XKR but not complaining. Welcome to the club. The 300ZX TT is an amazing car and great to drive fast or slow anywhere anytime.

Seconded - Hi and welcome by the way....

.....I have always been a fan of the 944 and XJS - so I'd have to keep both of them.... But good luck in your search for a 300zx!

Can you give an unbiased comparison of the 3 rivals there, the GTO the Supra and the Z? I don't mind if the Z doesn't win :)

ok...well, the GTO is for speed freaks...the 4wd and twin turbos make it easy ( but still exciting) to travel very fast...but the car does most of the work really...

...the Supra was more involving.....and even as a non-turbo it sounded awesome!...i did enjoy getting the back end out on greasy days too...:)

...I have yet to sample a ZX.....:)

Hope this is of some help...

Good man :thumbup1: I think that a stock zed, is a GT car, they're comfortable, fast but in no way frantic and normally automatic. The one I drove didn't handle that well, I was overwhelming the car quite easilly going over the fells near Alston with a lot of body roll, understeer and bouncy tyre squeal.

Mine has been forced into being a sports car. It has worked pretty well, it is now a very quick road car, handles well, drifts well but still has it's manners, it is comfortable, cruises well and has a decent boot.

But no 2 zeds are the same.

Hope your zed is what you want it to be mate :)

To be honest, your idea of a Z is pretty much what I hope a Z would be :)...

The draw of a Z! & I think the lines of the Z so much more subtle !

I agree...I think the styling integrity is easily the equal of say a Porsche 928...and more original than either the Supra or GTO....
