Hey guys. Got some new disks. The front already have the 350z conversion so bought the correct disks and pads etc. However. The two nuts that hold on the caliper I have removed but it still will not budge. Any tips?

You mean the two BOLTS that hold on the caliper I presume. Have you taken the old pads out yet ?

Well. There is one at the top and one at the bottom both facing towards the disk. However they are nuts on bolts. Size 19 I think

And no because I can't take the caliper off

?????????????????????

You can change pads on the 350Z calipers without removing them.

On a correct 350Z install you should have two bolts.

Maybe some modifying/bodging has taken place in the past on your set up.

Pics would help

To remove the caliper you don't need to remove the pads but you will need to push the prisons back slightly. The pads will be catching on the lip worn on the disc. Just carefully lever them back.

I mean no disrespect but if you get stuck with this you probably shouldn't be working on brakes being that they are kind of important for stopping.

I'm sure there are plenty of guides on YouTube.

When reinstalling make sure all the hub faces are free from rust and make sure the pads are properly seated with a little copper grease on the back and on the sliders. No on the friction face

Also be aware that when you push the Pistons back it will return fluid to the reservoir so don't let it overflow. Brake fluid is good paint stripper!

Haha yeah it is mate. Also u know where I went wrong. Silly really. Where the pads are there are two small metal rob like bars with a bracket. This obviously need to come off and I missed them. Don't know how but there you go

Did you get 324mm 350Z rotors or 300ZX rotors?

Why?

Because there is a 5mm difference in sizing between the two, sort of like wheel offset.

Got the 350z mate because it's had a conversion for the bigger rotors

The important thing is they fit correctly.

There are a number of conversions to bigger rotors.

324mm rotors with StopTech or aftermarket calipers

324mm rotors with OEM Z32 calipers & adapters

324mm rotors with R32 & R33 GT-R Brembo calipers

324mm rotors with the Z33 Brembo calipers.

The GT-R Brembo & the Z33 Brembo calipers are almost identical, however if using the Z33 calipers, the mounting bolts are larger in diameter, therefore the mounting holes need to be enlarged.

The GT-R Brembo calipers are a straight bolt on, no drilling etc required.

Z33 Brembo rear calipers don't fit, whereas the GT-R Brembo calipers are a straight bolt on affair.

It is possible the front rotor could be off centre by 5mm if the Z33 rotors are used, dependant on the mounting arrangement.
