Managed to buy the scuttle panels (both side) for £20 and they've just turned up. Frankly they're in great shap although need painting.

What do you guys think? Paint the same code black as the car or just something like plasticoat or plastidip?

Just a normal spray can with plastic primer then? No clear coat I'm guessing?

Plastidip finish is inconsistent and doesn't last.

It's also been known for windscreen wash fluid to mark or even dissolve it.

You could use a satin clear coat over satin black if you wanted to give it a shade of depth.

Correct Lee that's how I did mine gave them a good clean with panel wipe and a tack cloth before the primer then a couple of nice even coats of satin black and that should do it. NO CLEARCOAT

gives a nice OEM look

U can get the black plastic fasteners from Halfords for about £3.

The scuttle panels, fine wet & dry, then grey prima then I used black plastic bumper paint, all Halfords.

I used the same method for the black window strips.

I treated mine to a full set of new fasteners from Mike Feeney. Then I sold them and got carbon ones instead.

Any pics of the carbon ones.were did you get them from.

Don't know what colour the Euro Z32's were, but the JDM's have a charcoal metallic colour on the wiper cowls, around the exterior mirrors & the strips on the roof.

They're all the same. Here's mine (stock brand new).

I've been out sending for about 3.5 hours this afternoon.

Anyway, I used 150g, do you'd think I should now use a finer grit, such as 240 even greater or will it be OK to paint as is?

If you are using crappy rattle cans filled with thin paint then the minimum finish will be in 400. 500/600 would be better. IMO

Thanks mate. Will be rattle cans. Do I need to build up to the higher grits or could I for example just go to 600 now?

Go to 600 now, give it a good paint over with primer and once dry key the primer with 1000/1200 grit then paint, done.
