Hi guys - hope everyone is well and sorry for your loss of Roobarb.

My mechanic has advised that I need a new master brake cylinder. Having had a quick look on Ebay, I see there's a few different models.

Could anyone please advise which one I need for my J reg Jap import 1991 300ZX Fairlady (automatic if it makes a difference - sorry, I know very little about mechanics and rely on you guys for help :) )

Also, any advice on where I should get this from, which is best, and how much I should expect to pay? Is there a part number? Or bore size?

Thanks in advance for your help as always - The Beast is still running well for the 15 years I've owned it as a result :)

I've got a second had one you can have cheap.. you can then get a new seal kit for it.. (but it might be OK as is, i bought it to replace my one, but never got around to it)

I can post you some pics (tomorrow) of it to compare to your one if you like...

I've just replaced my BMC with a brand new one, sourced through MJP on here.

It was £200, a Tokico BM57 cylinder for a twin turbo manual.

For what its worth, my opinion, I wouldn't bother with a 2nd hand unit as they'll all be getting on and I've heard mixed things about rebuild kits, sometimes successful, sometimes not.

A nice easy job to change though, you don't need to bench bleed the unit before and you don't need to bleed the calipers, only the ABS unit in the boot.

OK, thanks guys. Grateful for your help, as always. I'll have a word with my mechanic and see what he says :)
