I'm after a zed, preferably KL0 silver or KH3 black, but will consider anything if the car is good enough. It must have the proper rear seat belts instead of the lapbelts the very early ones got, since I need to be able to get my kids in the back, and rust free. Already modified would be preferred, not too fussed about bodykits and the like, but I want it to be a quick one if I can help it, so breathing mods, boost increase, maybe an NA rear end swap, etc.

 

Is there anything out there worth getting at the moment?

Well, I've seen a few now that were described as being in good condition that really weren't. If only I'd decided to get one of these a few years ago. :(

Sorry to hear you're struggling to find what you want, but it is a common issue for anyone looking for a 300zx.

I bought mine just under a year ago after travelling far and wide to view a load of rusty rotten rubbish that were described as excellent!

To be fair I was getting desperate, willing to make compromises on the spec I wanted.

I found a SWB turbo manual, was really after a slicktop so compromised there, but still got a 2 seater and ultimately the targas are a big part of the 300zx experience, on the odd time I've had them out it creates a whole new driving experience.

Anyway although this car is structurally pretty sound with no rust or rot, it was and still is riddled with issues that I'm working through, but it was the best I could find, my main goal being to find a rot free car and SWB which made the hunt all the more difficult!

Don't give up, you will find one, but you might need to up the budget to do so.

I found a swb pretty quickly, but that's no good to me since I need the rear seats. :(

Good luck on your search! I will let you know if mine comes up for sale ever. The last couple of years have made all the difference in price and availability. I wouldn't swap mine for anything these days, and each month that goes by with it as my Daily driver makes me want to keep it forever

Yeah, nearly 5 hours away from me and like you say there's no info whatsoever. He knows it needs work for the MOT but purposefully hasn't said what those bits were.

Being Fife i suspect its rather cold and very wet???

I've sent him a message asking for more info and pictures of areas where they're prone to rusting. See if he replies I guess.

Wouldnt hold your breath as if he cant be bothered putting info in a selling ad then i doubt he will do that. In saying that i have been proven wrong on many occasion.

Yes and it was in a rough state when Baz bought it (the Albanians trashed it). He spent some time cleaning it up and having various parts resprayed etc.

Any idea what happened to Boldy's (Alan's) car? I'd love another and that was always my favourite.
