B&B exhausts sound epic.

If I could fit one in a suitcase to dodge import tax I'd have one next time in the US!

Zed #2: 1998 Midnight Purple 2+2 NA. (owned 2020 - now)

Zed #1: 1995 Blue Slicktop NA (2013-2015)

having had a B&B in the past ...

Pros: great for looks and sound.

Cons: drones on the motorway, not the best for performance

Been looking for a Veilside Evolution for years, I now have one and its epic

Possibly the best sounding....I am biased, but I have heard plenty - sounds nicer than the B&B and is surprisingly refined; the best of both worlds!

More for the look and match as me personally think it would suit the Zed better.

When did you manage to luck onto one of those then?!!

He had to buy an entire car first to get the exhaust....

So, what does define exhaust sound. How can two 2.5" systems sound so different? How can you "tune" or change that sound?

Quality of material, design of pipe bends, quality of silencing material and how much.

The Veilside system is no lightweight, but the materials are of excellent quality, as are the baffles. It uses an H-pipe rather than the X-pipe. For example, the metalwork is of a thicker grade than most systems, this does add a bit of weight, but I'd trade off a little bit of that for a refined burble with absolutely no droan what so ever. My car is a street car, so for me, it ticks every single box. The overall quality, if you've ever seen one is incredible and far superior to most others I've seen, especially considering the age.

And not available any more and like trying to find a real unicorn

Cheers Si. Seriously considering retrofitting a resonator to my japspeed system rather than the X pipe. It will reduce peak Db and from what I understand make it more burble/throat rather than the top end rasp it currently produces.

It's amazing the way the same exhuast sounds different on different zed's. Particularly from a tt to an na,

I've had so many different exhuast exhuasts on my various zed's never one of those though...

I love my z1 pg exhuast, not the best quality quality, but the sound, imo The best

You have the turbo that totally changes the exhaust note. You'll find that TTs have a much deeper note, more refined and more exotic sounding, NAs are higher pitched and raspy. NAs are much more sensitive to exhaust makes/models. It's easy to ruin an NA with an exhaust, a TT is more forgiving.

Ive gone all 3" dps. Test pipes and and a home grown at the rear.ill let you know if it wakes the nebours up and what it sounds like in about one month grom now

Any pre-pics before fitting? If it wakes your neighbours up I'll be asking you to do me one as all these coffin Dodgers on my close need a good wake up call.

Got a japspeed at the moment and bit quiet for my liking - would decatting it make it much louder at all?

Best sounding exhaust for me at full boost is the hks super dragger. The big down side is the fact it's a single pipe.
