Just to say that i picked up my gsp 600 turbos yesterday and was most suprised of what i found in the box .bearing in mind there ment to be chinese rubbish.

i found a peace if paper from turbo technics in nottingham. Showing them there indervidual balancing and vibration test..So am am i to asume that these were made over there.then shiped to england to be tested and balanced.then shipped again to the retailer.whitch in my case will be amazon in america .before being shiped backed to me.

You could call turbo technics and ask them they keep records etc, I expect they would be very interested to discover that that's in there if its fake...

here is turbo technics fone number 01604 705050 or you could email them enquiries@turbotechnics.com seem daft not to just give them a call

As Dan says. Call them, have a chat. You'll know for sure then. Otherwise it's all just guess work from us pessimists.

I'm not afraid to say I freakin' love GSP600 turbos :)

So did they confirm that have indeed balanced this set of turbos? How much did they cost to your door in the end if you don't mind me asking.

Seems strange TT would be asked to get involved with these as their cost and then the freight from China to UK then UK to US surely makes them unviable to sell...although they probably make it up with international shipping of $300 Bucks!!

Unless TT have a little side business exporting the Tubs as OEM for JM and others, perhaps we just weren't meant to to find out!....however gives the tubs a lot more credibility.

This is very odd. Why on Earth are Turbo Technics balancing cheap Chinese turbos for Stateside companies? I'm intrigued!

China -> UK -> USA. Less profit for USA, can buy straight from China, plenty of turbo specialists in the USA. Logical route: China -> USA.

Question is, why were these not balanced in China before shipping?

That's not the Chinese way.

Think of Chinese items as a base product upon which you can decide to lavish additional outlay or your own expertise, engineering, knowledge etc to create A Very Good Item, much cheaper than the original of which the snide is based on. Or you can do it the cheapest possible way with nothing extra, taking your chance. Or buy the exact same item from the UK (for example) but rebranded and much more expensive.

When I have bought electronic items from China, the first thing I do is open them up, clean off all the flux residue to halt any dendritic growth, reflow the majority of solder joints and then cover everything in conformal coating.
