Is there anywhere in the UK to buy silicone intercooler couplers from for SMICs? Or is my only option the US...?

Ok, further to this query: there's nowhere in the UK that can supply them off the shelf. SFS have said they're willing to look into reproducing a set in silicone, but I haven't sourced a spare set of OEM ones to send them yet...

I was speaking to Luke at Z Centre last night about why these aren't available over here and he reckons that the bends in the stock couplers are so slight that buying straight silicone hose and simply bending them into shape would be fine and cause no problems or restrictions.

Thoughts on the above please! Has anyone here replaced the stock couplers this way...?

And just to clarify: I'm on about the couplers that attach to the inlets and outlets on the SMICs (hidden behind the front bumper), NOT the intake hoses under the bonnet. :)

Hi Si, Get a set of vernier callipers, measure the inlet pipes of the SMIC's and the pipes they are going to connect to.... Measure lengths of the pipes needed and then give the dimensions to SFS...... ?

They may have something that fits already on the shelf for something else if they know sizes as hoses are reinforced with multiple ply......

The outer ones look about 45 degree bends or less...... I thought they sold 90, 45 degree bends in different bores?

The other 2 look almost straight so should be just length and inner diameter....?

To do that though, I need access to the stock couplers. Which are on the car, hidden behind the front bumper.

And, as her sister is currently using the daily Golf, that means the Zed is my only transport... and I can't pull the front end apart to look at these pipes while I need to drive her...

Snookered! Let's see if Google can be my friend here....

Right, a quick Google image search has brought up this picture:

As that is the fitting kit supplied with CZP's big SMIC kit, I'm presuming that I should be able to use two 2" ID pipes with a 45 degree bend and two 2" ID straight pipes.

Thoughts...?
