aahhhh the elusive pig is back. 10k is good for it but if you mean just put it in without taking the pipes off via the air intakes then its not really gonna make that much diffrence. take the pipes off m8 and use gunk its better at cleaning. if you wanna lift m8 give me a shout im getting to be a dab hand at cleaning every bugger elses engine now.....im told 10k boost is good for cleaning faulty rad caps as well hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Hey Marky Old boy.

lazy mans way is not to bother smile.gif

I would just go ahead and take the Hard pipes off. Use carb cleaner to get the gunk out, a tooth brush comes in handy - just make sure you dont reuse it after wink.gif

I would highly recommned doing it while the Engine is failry warm - watch your hands on the plenum and shit but it makes gettin the pipes on and off a dam site easier - i once tried to take mine off in the middle of winter and they were hard as nails on there.

Happy cleaning.

Sorry to sound thick but is this something that only the TT drivers do? Should us NA owners do it as well?

Andy

tt or na it will do good for both as cleanining the shite from them stops bad air flow and stops any sticking which can sometimes lead to idling probs

Yup, the NA can benefit from TB-cleaning, just as much as the TT can.

On the NA it's a bit harder to get the pipes off/on, since they're not made of silicone, but apart from that it's exactly the same procedure.

hugghhh ?

Since WHEN are the stock TT / pipes made out of silicone.....my stock ones certainly are NOT !

The only thing about cleaning the plenum chambers is that if the car was recently tuned then it was set up with all the crud roung the throttle butterfly valves, so when you clean it all out the idle speed can sometimes rise, so be prepared to adjust it.
