Ten of the Best (TOTB), is a performance road car event run by Straightliners Ltd, aimed at finding the best all round car and drivers in Europe. Handling, top speed and a 1/4m drag strip are used to determine the best of the best, Ten Of The Best!

All cars that compete in our main road competition class are road legal, taxed, tested and insured. There is also a new "pro-drag class" for the ultimate drag specific cars. Many of the cars that compete at TOTB are modified, some to the extreme. Many of the entrants have built and modified their own vehicles, while others represent the cream of the crop from the Tuners and Garages that specialise in the types of cars entered to compete.

Points are awarded in each of the three events overall, making it extremely difficult to score points in all events, unless the car and driver are on top form!

The Pro-Drag class will have its own shootout final and trophy, with regular head to head runs during the event.

Individual classes are also used to determine class trophies:

FWD (front wheel drive)

RWD (rear wheel drive)

4WD (four wheel drive)

The teams who take part are also battling it out for the TOTB team Trophy, a highly contested piece of silverware.

Ten of the Best brings together modern high tech and high spec cars, along with high power retro classics, giving all a chance to show their prowess on the day. Entrants come from most of the UK and European car clubs and groups, along with individual entries and invited Tuner cars.

The only problem IIRC was due to the base timing being set incorrectly which was very simple to rectify with a timing light.

I can't recall the car not having a boost controller, how did it make over 500hp @ wheels at base boost? :wack:

Best to PM and keep this thread about TOTB though :)

Wow, just realised its over a 4 hour drive, and 500+ mile round trip

Well worth the effort though mate. One of the best fun weekends for the money and some insane cars competing too.

Slight change of plans I think!

New engine spec will still feature OEM pistons & rods, held together with ARP head studs, rod & mains bolts with ACL +0.001" rod & mains race bearings. Forged internals waiting in the wings for when (if) the stock pistons give up the ghost :D

Should have things ready to roll a bit quicker this way.

Unfortunately I'm definitely out of totb, I need the money to put the zed into storage for a while,

As much as I really want to, it would force my hand if blew the rest of my funds playing.

If I can store it, hopefully things will be different next year, and she can come and play then.

Sorry guys.

Sorry to here you are not taking part.

My prediction is looking nearer a reality now ..................

My prediction is that only Ian and me will be taking part in 300s from the club..... as well as Bob in the Eurospec team
That's great Paul the more the merrier.

I won't be in my car so won't need the space on club stand. Should be getting lift from Bird.

That would be a shame after such a good turn out last year. I'm still with my old engine as won't have the time to get the new one in and tested in time so that will be in over the winter ready for next year. The old engine has done fantastic though as it was smoking badly last year and at both Castle Coombe and Brands the other week I was lucky to be let out on track :) Obviously lost a bit of compression down the right bank and it won't last much longer but hopefully will get me through TOTB. Down on power quite a bit too but we have got a pretty decent set up now so I am going to focus on the handling circuit and go steady on the 1/4 and top speed run. I won't be using it generally but am increasing the NOS to a 200 shot so if we are very lucky and get to a drag final I'll be able to use that for one final swan song lol.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

I have no idea if my own car will be ready in time! So much needs to be done that is out of my control
