Exhaust gaskets and paste

I have random sizes I can't match exactly on my exhaust and one end is a pair of fabricated flanges that join the exhaust.

Is making your own gasket from something like the link below a reliable option?

Do you use exhaust gasket paste as well, if so what would you recommend?

Rather than Exhaust paste use high temp silicon sealer!

I made all my exhaust gaskets from this metal they sell in B&Q it's like a waffle pattern, no sealant, no leaks.
