Hi there

Was on here about a year ago looking - ended up buying an R33 - scratched that itch, now back here...amongst other places ;)

I am open to the following:

NA or TT

Targa Top only

Avoiding series 1s

Import or UK is fine

Manuals only please

SWB or LWB

Not silver

In terms of budget, not looking to go crazy (for instance Vipers purple was out of reach of what I am looking to pay).

Cheers

Col

Don't worry guys, water off a ducks back and all that, I do not sink to the depths of name calling - maybe I shouldn't have been so abrupt in my response.

Yeah I looked at that silver one a few times Gary, probably a little bit high in price for me would only pay that sort of money if it was exactly what I wanted and I am not a fan of silver paintwork (although I have seen the odd car that it really suits).

He got a warning but ignored it and then broke another rule by insaulting you so he needs a holiday to calm down and when (if) he comes back he needs to read our AUP.

No worries on Derek's Z and I must get him to update his for sale add as I know he will take less than his asking price.

Hi & good luck with ur continueing search.

I know a good Z is a must to anyone wanting one! TT or N/A

SWB or LWB! Best price, service history, MOTs, mods, ect, ect!

After that it is a 20 year old super car & I like mine!

It came from Japan, I have history of it,all in Japanese !:)

So buy from UK! Or from Japan ?

My Z is great! & if it goes wrong I'll fix it cos its a great car!

Who do I blame if it goes wrong?

Well I could buy corsa, ka, polo, ?

Buy what u want & what u can afford if it goes wrong!

Nice cars chaps - I am very seriously now thinking the import route, so few for sale in the UK at the moment - having conversations with Torque GT and now watching the auctions to see what sort of stock is coming up.

Nice looking car sir, like the clear side indicators & dark headlight surrounds.

Still looking, quite happy actually to go the NA route if its a very clean one - just has to be manual and targa

I've got a Series 2 manual NA SWB targa that could be for sale. I had planned to swap all my goodies from my LWB over to it, but I can't bear to part with the LWB :wack:

Interested in a price for that SWB myself please, Noel :)

Well, I had a good crack at buying a 300zx over the course of 4-5 months and really wasn't too impressed with what I saw - just unlucky that I was looking at cars either with issues and things that needed doing or riddled with rust and with at least £5k in my pocket felt that I wanted something a bit more than that. So sadly spent my money elsewhere...out the blue a Celica GT4 ST205 popped up near me, looked super clean, went and had a look and snapped it up. Car is pristine not a hint of rust, engine purrs and pulls very nicely much quicker than I thought it would.

Anyway, cheers for the advice from various people on here during my ultimately fruitless search though!

That looks very nice! Not sure the wheels quite work with it, I'd probably look for some stock Supra wheels maybe. But the car looks really clean!

Finding a clean Z32 now is very very difficult and you should be able to get a clean one for the budget you had, however, it's finding one that's the hard thing.

Thanks mate, you are not the first to comment on the wheels although in the metal they look much better the photos do not do them justice.

Yes I easily had the budget for a good 300zx but it was just finding one for sale...maybe winter wasn't the best time to look but I had been out of a car for too long and the impending good weather just pushed me to look at other options!

Totally. I've seen a lack of them in general for sale anyway, so finding a nice one in the limited amount of tat gets really frustrating.

At this juncture, I'd suggest actually personally importing one from Japan now as there's not much here anymore and there are still tidy ones there to be had.

Ha! Took a little bit of researching to figure out what Faff was!

I was actually in the middle of conversations with Torque GT on importing and was selecting various ones from the import sites - then this popped up. There is a great selection in Japan I think the UK could do with a nice influx of fresh Japanese stock.

That does look nice Colin :thumbup1: Health to enjoy mate and keep in touch.

Will do mate, its the second time I had a crack at getting a 300zx and ended up buying something else - so who knows - will probably go straight to the import route if I do sell this at some point and decide to have a crack at a 300zx in the future!

There are still plenty available. It's just a case of making some of them great again.

I made a vow to start keeping them on the road as opposed to breaking them, right now I have available one low mileage NA manual SWB and one nicely modified UK TT. Both down at PowerZed with the TT getting a full engine rebuild for one lucky new owner

Some people just not willing to listen to sound help & advice!

By the right persons!!

??!

He couldn't find a Z32 here that ticked all his required boxes, so he's ended up with a very nice looking ST205 instead.

That surely has to be better than just wading in and buying a Zed here (as I'm assuming his budget wouldn't stretch to importing one), then lamenting that decision on here if it turned out to be a bit of a lemon...?
