I'll post more info later on this coming week but my Zed's going up for sale.

She's a 1991 JDM TT in GL2 black, originally automatic but converted to manual last year. 80,000 miles, but a good portion of those will be kilometres.

Me and Tomfromthenorth have "arse-dyno'd" her and we both reckon that the engine's been fettled in some respect as power output feels higher than standard. She has a Zedworld sticker on the ECU:

SAM_0527_zpsabf78f69.jpg

The car will be essentially standard in most respects (no big brakes, OEM seats, original taillights, etc).

I will more than likely be letting the private plate go with her as well - FAZ 323 - which nicely contains "Z32" if anyone wanted to play about with the spacing ;) This was valued recently online at £1500 itself.

Good points:

Low mileage for age.

12 months' MOT.

Fairly new blue tint windscreen (bronze glass aside from that.

Healthy, powerful engine.

Manual transmission.

GL2 Black paintwork cleans up well.

Full stainless exhaust, possibly Mongoose.

Cruise control works as it should.

Private numberplate.

Bad points:

Rust on O/S rear arch and edge of rear screen.

A healthy smattering of stonechips.

No intercooler ducts.

Flaking paint on a couple of edges (round door handles, aerial, front bumper, etc).

So that's the lie of the land, really. Aside from a power steering leak shortly after I bought her, I've honestly had no issues and she's been super-reliable and (as Tom will confirm) pretty rapid when required.

I'll get some up to date pictures in the next day or so, but looking for £1,500 to drive her away. :)

Si.

Can i say what a good honest for sale thread this is and that MOT report, pass whatever you want to call it says it all.

I wouldn't say no intercooler ducts is a bad point, someone not in the know might think oh heck !!!

Cheers Andy :)

As I say, I'm certainly not trying to say that this Zed is any kind of immaculate example of the marque or anything like that - she's a good, solid car with a powerful-feeling engine and I've had no particular issues during my ownership.

There's been an occasion or two where she seems to have dropped to five cylinders for a minute or so. I'm assuming there's a loose connection somewhere under the bonnet.

The blower motor sometimes takes a while to come on as well, but this is intermittent.

So there we go: a 1991 TT, now manual, 80k on the clock. :)

There's been an occasion or two where she seems to have dropped to five cylinders for a minute or so. I'm assuming there's a loose connection somewhere under the bonnet.

I had a similar intermittant thing and it always occurred after a spirited bit of driving, a split hose was all it was on the plenum, they have that many it can always be a fair assumption one as gone pop.

Would you consider selling it with all the bits still on? Looks good in the pics. Email address is cymrudeano at gmail.com

If I wasn't getting another Zed then yes, I'd just sell it as it is. But I hunted for months and months to find a set of proper Recaro rails so they're going in the new car and this one will have a pair of tweed front seats.

Similarly, the rear lights will be changed for a not-so-great pair of pre 99s. But our newest trader Phutumsch can obviously change those for you if need be :)

All things like this are why I'm asking for offers on this.

Coming back into the fold?

Ok, I've settled on a price now: £1,500 drives her away. :)

I've been asked for some more pictures, especially relating to the paintwork. She'd had a respray in GL2 Black before I bought her and it's started to flake in certain places, so I've tried to capture that in these pictures.

They also show that the doorshuts, inner wings and underbonnet were sprayed as well, but the bulkhead behind the engine remains in the original silver. There's also a picture of the centre targa bar as the ends on that are a little tatty.

Please note: any shiny bits under the bonnet, etc won't be included with the car! She'll be a pretty much standard trim 300ZX when she goes.

Thanks, mate - it is a good honest car, yeah. There's a part of me that really wants to keep her, but I've set my heart on a Shortie and I genuinely can't justify (or afford!) two Zeds in my life!

No josh. You've just sold your second one stop buying 300s!

......

But I want it !!

Ok, I've finally had a chance to get underneath and get some pictures. So here they are:

Here's a better shot of the wheels that are going on - 17" Tri Force Deltas, all with excellent Falken tyres:

Here's the engine bay:

And finally, these are sadly tatty rear lights that will be fitted. They all work absolutely fine, but they're far from being in "good nick" I'm afraid:

SAM_1552_zpsca692614.jpg

I'm leaving the crystal front indicators on and also the adjustable front camber arms. The pretty bronze calipers will also be staying with the car. :)

Hope that helps any interested parties out there!
