Has anyone on here had their windows tinted/blacked out? If so where and how much can you expect to pay?

 

I know that there are loads of firms around but I'm looking for a company that does a pukka job. Not really bothered about who's the cheapest etc. I think with window tinting you get what you pay for!

ive had mine done and ask anyone who has seen it they'll tell you its good it cost me 250 sovs but that included them taking the nasty tints that were already on off.speak to sq+ based in trafford park

autotronix at bedford done mine £65 it was my best mates nephew's shop £160 normal price.

I was thinking about fitting diy film last weekend, but wasn't sure on the legal side of it so I phoned my insurance company. They want an extra £50 on the policy which is stupid considering the film is only £26 for the whole car. So didn't bother. But go for a pucker job if you can afford it.

Having tinted front side windows over the 30% limit is apparently an endorsable offence and the police can also insist that the car isn't moved until the tint has been removed. Insurance companies can also refuse to pay out in the event of an accident according to my traffic police source.

 

My side windows are so dark (done in Japan) that I have to wind them down to reverse at night! :-)

Unbelievable, I thought the whole idea with window tinting was for better car security...WTF?

 

Insurance companies should be endorsing it and giving you money off your sodding premium!
