Hi all just wondering what else I will need to get parts wise for my upgraded turbos as want it all doing at the same time

So far I have

1/turbos

2/godspeed smic

3/550cc injectors

4/braided turbo oil lines new gaskets ect

5/ point lower rear brace

6/2 point lower front brace to tighten things up

Decat exhaust already fitted as is boost controller

I know standard z feul pumps are fine for 500bhp so don't think I need one of those but will I need an fpr or any other bits people can recommened

An appropriate map to suit the 555 injectors and larger turbos.

Dependant on the turbos used, different turbo elbows and oil feed line restrictors.

An engine in tip top health.

You don't need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Standard fuel pump is good for the power, but it will likely be a couple decades old at least, so bear that in mind.

A tired engine will still do the job, the only issue will be an increased wear rate.

2.5" intake pipework will see a nice increase, as will a dual intake set up. These are not needed though.

So im basically got everything I need but might be better off geting a new oem fuel pump then just need to save up for fitting and a map which I will be coming for you for, how much would another map be just out off interest?

He will need a bespoke map in time (bout £250.00) but a simple off the shelf chip (£25.00) will suffice in the meantime.

Fuel pump (i didn't) is just peace of mind, as is water pump ( i did).

Standard clutch won't hack it, you'll need a stage 3, also an uprated rad is required.

So how much is a nice increase for the 2.5" inlet pipes plus dual intake setup on a car with std auto tubs and std injectors please noz

Don't buy an XTD clutch, phutumsch was lucky and got a good one, I didn't.

Mine felt a lot faster Ian with those, if its enough you can feel it they must be 15hp each.

I wouldn't recommend a random generic chip for £25 at all to be honest, pointless if it's getting remapped. The 555cc chips that used to do the rounds are pretty shocking. Mine certainly don't cost £25 :wack:

James, will drop you a message when I get back tonight regarding prices.

Ian, I went from 394 bhp to 450+ bhp with decats, front mount, 2.5" pipework and dual intake on stock turbos & injectors. Torque was up about 60-70 lbft. Boost increase was possible from 1.4 to 1.7 bar. Drivability & response was amazing.

The cost of 2.5" is annoying, the AMS ones are cheapish but don't fit, the others are expensive. I'm going to make my own.

Noel is the periscope part that bolts to the turbo face as restrictive as it looks? I'm keen to bin that off in the process.

Yes, one of the problems due to the OEM mounts.

Won't be long until I've done some testing on the new blow-through slot MAF insert so the stock intake can be upgraded or removed in its entirety. As close to running a MAP sensor as is possible.

You know I've been thinking about what causes the periscope for weeks but been too lazy to check, I assumed it was the Ancileries, PS pump AC etc

Forgot to add I've already upgrade the clutch and flywheel so should be OK for the power its the xtd one might just do fuel and water pump like you say for peace of mind

The AshSpec planer inlet piping looks like this:

The stock engine mount is used with some material removed to clear the "periscope" pipe section:

:clover: mine spun itself into molten ferrodo. Competition clutch are good if yours does the same.

Cheers for that Andrew, I'm hoping to come out virtually straight, then pop the tube out under the headlights. That kit still uses the same idea of a periscope it's just opened up to remove the constrictions.

I was getting the gt525 from concept z but gave up as they had stock issues so went for these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-PAIR-NISSAN-300zx-Twin-Turbo-Upgrade-Performance-Turbochargers-NICE-/111472630426? Got good reviews from people state size look good came this morning

how much in total mate, i was looking at these the other week, including post,. so there standerd size then with bigger internals and compressor housings yes, so like the gt28 then. oh and how long did they take

They are a t28 core with stock housing machined to fit the same as Z1s GT525 kit, except they use brand new cores.

so we saying for 600 plus quid i can get me some new gt28 tubs and keep the t25 fitting etc

happy days

It won't be a T28 core (CHRA) as there is no mention of changes to the turbine wheel & housing from the stock TB22. They look the same size as stock, from what I can tell.

Spin Doctor: No, they are not GT28 turbochargers.

If the rear is unchanged from stock, they are T3/T22 hybrids

Also, a T28 and everything up to a GT3071R have T25 fittings. The next sixe up is the T3-frame turbocharger.
