Ok, I could be in the market for a shortie very soon. Must be a TT and must be a targa top. Ideally a manual, but autos considered. Preferably standard or near-standard looks. Must have at least MOT, preferably T&T and be ready to drive away.

Here's the interesting bit: my budget's going to be around £3k tops!

Am I just having a laugh with myself here...?

I thought that about the exhaust when I first saw it, looks ridiculous! Although doesn't take much to remove and fit a swb one.

Yes an easy fix but its very hard to get a SWB exhaust in the UK. Thats why he has the LWB one's on. I must say its an interesting look

Its pretty easy to go to one of these powerflow garages and have them custom build one to your own specs

There's a nice-looking one inScotland on Gumtree - see here - but the owner's not responding to the texts he's asking for! :(

Anyone recognise it or know anything about it, by any chance...?

I think that might have belonged to a member on here from a few years ago. His username was The Veteran I think?? It was a fine example at the time and still looks good :)

I just wish he'd answer text messages...!!! :shuriken:

Have you tried calling? Some people won't respond to texts. Unless he specified to text then ignore me lol

He specified texts, mate. I'll give him a ring at some point cos, out of the silver one and the yellow one, I'm much preferring the silver one!

That yellow one reminds me of an old funki Si one of mine...

Those pipes...!! Somewhere an oil rig is missing a couple of important parts...!

Right, so the owner's replied at last and sent me some more pictures - she looks remarkably clean and tidy in them too :)

Timing belt was apparently changed just over a year ago by the previous owner (a mechanic who was crazy about Z32s) and the only niggle he's mentioned is the rear bushes could possibly do with changing.

Such a shame it's an NA really... I don't think I could "step down" from a TT and I don't have the time to swap engines around. :(

I spotted that, looks a nice car. Tbh if you go from an auto TT to a manual NA it won't feel too slow, the diff ratio and Na format make it feel more responsive, of corse you won't have the top end power or the tunability. If you were interested in that cat I'm off work next week and that's pretty near me, so I could have a look for you.

Thanks for the offer, but there's too much I'd want to change on it - front bumper, rear lights, engine, etc - and the glitter paint would be a 'mare to match!

The search continues....

the glitter paint would be a 'mare to match!

..

Why on earth would you wanna 'match' it? That would be the first thing I'd do would be to get rid of a the glitter paint!

In an ideal world, I wouldn't have glitter paint at all. But as I'm sadly not the most flush of individuals currently, if I bought that car and changed parts of the bodywork, I'd have to match the existing paintwork. :(

But as I'm NOT going to get that car, it's immaterial. :)

Right, mind made up now: if I can find a Shortie within budget then I'm going to buy one! :)

I just need to find one and it'd be nice if work would actually pay me the money they owe me so I have a budget to spend!! :cursing:
