Can anybody confirm if the tt rear sway bar is solid or hollow? Reason I ask is that the service manual doesn't quote an inner diameter for the ukdm zed but quotes it for the us and australian rear sway bars?

I'm sure Stock front and rear is hollow

I've got one in the garage and if I remember correctly it's pretty heavy so should think it's solid!

The UK spec bar is indeed the thickest OEM bar, the NA J-Spec having the smallest diameter.

I always thought they were hollow to.

 

ETA: According to the likes of CPZ etc. who sell uprated bars, the stock ones are hollow.

Not European and uk cars, because they were not restricted to 112mph Nissan gave them stronger anti roll bars I read some where.

Very interesting. I'd be interested in knowing the weight of the rear uk bar if anybody has one handy. Interestingly the uk tt actually has a smaller front sway bar than the aus spec and us na's so it appears to be set up for more oversteer for whatever reason (or possibly just less understeer, the aus spec zeds all understeer pretty bad). Wonder if the thicker swaybar was to help aid in rear wheel traction for the hicas at higher speeds?

almost 100% hollow just they have a wider diameter so a little stronger

To add, the UK bar is apparently 27mm thick, JSPEC 21mm.

The whiteline upgrade is 22mm thick, but stated as solid, so surely wouldn't be an upgrade if the UK bar was also solid?
