right here we go with parts needed for my new car. its a 1990 jap man tt, the clock cluster had been replaced some time back and i do know its had a new speed censor in the gearbox, now the issue is that when the ecu reconises that the speed kmp converter thingy box from kmp to mph this cuse its naff. this then sends a message to the ecu saying your doing max speed, then the cars stering into stiff sterring mode, so that said if im right, i need a kmp to mph convertor box of tricks thing. were the best most decend sound place to get one off these, luke at z center.i guess.

You can get them cheaper on ebay, however it is pot luck with the reliability, so get one from Luke and at least you have some back up.

^^^Yes.

Buy a series 1 UK cluster, plug in, done! No cheap nasty convertor required. Its also the correct way to get the steering weight correct, because with a convertor chip fitted to a JSPEC cluster the ECU controlling the steering weight is being feed incorrect information!

what buy a uk cluster?

Would have thought that was pretty obvious?

Allan if you change the cluster you will loose the led lighting, chrome rings and silver clock faces, unless you do a load of work to swop it all over.

Groover do you remember that converter I bought ages ago and had sent to you for you to have a look at with the intention of making them? Spin Doctor can have that if he want's to sort out postage with you.

Spin Doctor that was me chatting to you outside Tesco the other day, nice to meet you :thumbup1:

Yes mate will dig it out, the board is totally encased in a resin, so no chance of taking it apart without damaging whatever is on the board, so still intact :thumbup1:

Ha ha, that's funny! Cheers for the offer and same to you if you need a hand.

Basically it's a small box covered in resin with a few wires coming out of it. There's a diagram online somewhere of how to wire it in
