Am thinking of getting 18's. 8 on front and 10 or 9 on back. Can I have recommendations on tyre sizes to keep the speedo true.

235/40/18 & 255/35/18 are almost exactly the same diameter as standard.

I've got 8.5" front rims, don't know if a 235 will fit an 8" ?

235 X 40 X18 go on 8.5ins and 265X35 18 on 10ins on the rears and is within 2.5% of stock for speedo and its becoming a relatively common tyre for porkers and the like so not too horrendously expensive unless you insist on the best then £200+ a tyre. My last pair were Falkens at £130 each and lasted about 10k miles.

If you can, I'd suggest you go for a 9.5" instead of 10" rear with a 265 35 18. I had 10" with that tyre and there was no tyre overhang at all and it was SO easy to curb them. That and the fact that I'm a bit of a lazy / crappy parker.

I'd certainly go for a 9.5" if I was doing it again.

P.S. I would go for a premium tyre. What's the point of getting loads of wheel and then putting crappy rubber on it. Quality AND quantity

I've got 10" (lucky me) with a 285 tyre so nicely doesn't curb the rims on sh1t parking! they look fkin butch from the rear aswell!
