PAS Pipework

When I stripped my zed a part of the upper steering tube was damaged so I simply cut it.

Never noting that the rubber pipe is captive to the main pipe I now need a replacement.

Below is a pic of the damaged pipe which is now about three inches too short to reach the pas pot :

The question is - how can I make a repair of this pipe ?

Can I cut the top of the metal and put a jubilee on and replace the top rubber part ?

Can I replace the full pipe with rubber ?

Whats the reason for the big elaborate route of the pipe rather than just going direct ?

Any help on this would be great.

Cheers

The consensus is that this routing acts as a 'cooler'.

You can replace the entire route with a small square conventional cooler if you are worried, I have seen it done.

I've seen on the Aus site several guys delete that length of metal pipe and run short lengths of rubber hose without a cooler and have no problems

Sorry thought you said you were going to use a cooler?

I've used high pressure fuel line on mine, I can give you the I.D this afternoon when I go to the workshop

Just checked and I've used 7/8" (22mm) high pressure oil and fuel hose from the pot to the rack :cool3:
