Hi members,

Just joined tonight. As per title I'm being made redundant, good news is... I have another job, better news is... I'm using a bit of the redundo, to purchase my first ever retro Jap... I considered the GTO/3000 and the Supra, and also the MR2 and Celica. For some reason I have been drawn to the 300 zed. I've read the buyers guides, and reviews etc... However I'm a little un-sure where to buy a decent one from. I'd rather not use EBay or Gumtree, and there isn't many available privately on forums... Any ideas? Thanks in Advance.

Adam

Your best bet is to buy from an owners club/forum mate as these will be the most cared for cars that probably won't need too much work, if any.

If you buy cheap then chances are you will need to spend money.

Take your time, look at as many as possible and get the best you can for your budget.

There are plenty of buyers guides available which can really help.

If you see one for sale miles from yourself, usually you only need to ask and someone will gladly take a look at it for you.

Good luck on your search mate.

I'm willing to spend 4.5k I have friends in the bodywork biz, so as long as I get a mechanically sound TT I'll be happy.

Welcome to the club Adam, im sure you could pick up a decent enough zed for that price :thumbup1:

Fingers crossed... A few on fleabay... Relatively high mileage, would have to have a chat with the owners... See receipts and service stamps etc... Want one for the end of the month ideally, before "she" gets the chance to spend!...

If I could buy again, I would do what you did and got on the forum first. Cars here are usually well known by members and would have gone through the recognised experts hands at some point or other...

Echo what others have said on here about buying from the site, rather than ebay. Night be worth a phone call to Jeff @ Zedworld to see if knows of any of his customers that may be thinking of selling/for sale. Thats how I found mine.
