Collected my car on Friday having had the engine rebuilt by Jimmer at PowerZed. Jimmer's done loads of work including a new wiring loom, bigger injectors, bigger SMIC's, 535 turbo upgrade, forged pistons and loads more. Now she purrs like a pussy cat and is silky smooth. I cant wait to get it back to Jimmer & Noel AKA Turbonoz to get it mapped. Just going through the run in process and we are good to go. Jimmer has been great, he's kept in touch and has given me great advice and as a bonus he's a top bloke. I have spent the weekend driving around (she's been off the road for 7 years) with a massive smile on my face. Cheers Jimmer I cant thank you enough :)

Cheers guys. Yes she goes like a stabbed rat (although I have to be careful until its run in) and purrs like a kitten. Its great to be driving her again, I forgot how much fun they are. I have still got loads to do, mapping, suspension upgrades, a bit of blending in on the front bumper and I need to get it professionally upholstered ( I had a go and its not pretty). But thats the point of owning a 25 year old classic, its a long term project thats not to be rushed but enjoyed :biggrin:

It's only running a basemap suitable for running in, it shouldn't be driven hard.

Jim should start putting small engraved Build plates on his engines like they used to do on Astons such is his quality of work:yes:

Ok noted ref basemap. Jimmer said go steady but don't be afraid of using boost, just don't do hard pulls using prolonged boost. Should I just potter about for now to get some miles on the engine and do the oil changes?

Not trashing it just fairly steady driving with little short bursts every know and again. To be honest it's pretty quick, if I need to overtake less than 1/4 throttle and your past at 75/80 mph more sort of cruising than full throttle mental stuff. :thumbup: I am also making sure the engine is up to temp before using any boost and I let it cool down for a few miles and let it idle for a couple of minutes before turning it off. I have got a turbo timer but it hasn't worked since Ztech AKA Ryan did my auto to manual conversion :thumbdown: can't wait to get her properly mapped and find out how many ponies I've got on the dyno. I think with the Jimmer and Noel combination Zedding has never been better :clap:
