Due to house purchase (1st house  )

How easy is it to sell a Z? (J-spec manual TT)

Featured Replies

Well m8, I guess that would depend on the age/condition/spec and most importantly the price!:D :D

There's seems to be a high-demand for manual TTs though - if memory serves me correct, there's a couple of people on here and on z-club.net looking for one right now.

I wouldn't have thought it would be too much of a problem ... but how ya gonna replace it?????:(

What's the spec?

CheerZ,

John.

Noooooooooo......don't do it! You could live in a Z (if you're very very small), but a house won't do 160mph!

Make the other 'arf get a better/second job! Don't drink, don't eat, don't take drugs... in fact anything (except the last), but just keep that car!

Don't forget that no matter how bad life seems sometimes, the Z will always put a smile on your face!:D

bugger, I'm 6'6", so living in it isnt an option, I dont drink that often, dont smoke (well, not tobacco anyway;)).

I know what you mean re smile on your face, but to be honest I can't afford to run the Zed on top of all associated house costs (this is my first house you see, I'm only 22!!)

would you be able to lay the Z up untill you have settled in your new house? , just get lay up cover for your insurance?

there again i can still remember my 1st house purchase and i know what you must be going thru m8

but its always a option :)

i have the perfect answer. get the car taken away to the garage for repairs, whilst buying e new house. then after you have moveed into your new house, the zed appears! my misses has forgotten all about the zed since it left for falcon and i reckon she will be too busy nest building in the new house to even notice my zed reappear in late january!!:D

cheers

steve

Or.....do what I did. Moved in, only pay ESSENTIAL bills. Wait until arrears build up, then by the time that happens your house will be worth loads more. Re-mortgage and have loads of cash to play with:D :D :D

Works if:-

1. Your house prices are going up.

2. You don't have to be a 'responsible' home owner.

Hey pal you could send it to montserrat . ill keep it safe

till your ready for it .. you might even find a house cheaper

here , and they all have swining pools..

ha ha ha

.. power be with you ..

lol!!! thanks for the advice guys, but I think it'll have to go unfortunately, I couldn't get it past the missus!!

I can't just lay it up either, missus doesn't drive yet, and the house we've out an offer on is about 15 miles from work, so I'd need a car to get in somehow - the Zed just isn't economical enough, and I wouldn't be able to afford more than one car :(

They all have pools coz it's the only place to hide when you got fifty squillion tons of LAVA racing towards you!!!

....still think you're a lucky sod though......

Hey you could always do what that bloke does on the Peugeot 206 advert on tele...(sorry did I swear then)...You could beat your Zed senseless with a large hammer and make it look like a mini...

two things going for you there: (1). Missus will think you have bought a top of the range mini cooper with 280bhp

And (2) YOU STILL HAVE YOUR ZED!!!

That might work.

Chris

...what's the spec Andy?

I've spent so long looking for a UK Zed I'm starting to think about Jap ones. Can you let me know price, history, mileage, colour, condition, bits needing attention?

Any pics?

Russ.

email me at andrewdodds@hecm.co.uk mate and I'll mail you back with details and pics

I've got bugger all money 2 kids on my own and i have a zed, the only way to educate the "wife" has she a name!!!is tell her about it, my first car was a mazda 323 (i know ... it was reliable though) it cost 700 quid so a second car is not that expensive

my second car was the Zed, even us "girlies can drive Zed's"

There are always other options( the third way)

Even after my blow out i could have made more money flogging it and buying a new one (which I tried though couldn't find one for a decent price that wasn't a shed)

think real long and hard and trust your gut instinct

Regret ain't fun

Whatever you do it will be right decision for you,you just don't sound like you want to part with it at all

the problem I have is being only 22 with 2 yrs NCB - if I then call and ask for a second car to be insured, most insurers have laughed at me so far!!! they think the risk of a zed alone is worth £2200 fully comp a year.
