Dust has just about settled on the Coventry show.

As such, it's time to look to the future. As well as asking for feedback from those who attended, I would like all members to answer the poll please.

I can now !

There are several other suitable venues as well.... Way up North (but not for you) is the Nissam Plant, there's the Motorcycle museum on the M42/A45 Junction, and there are several Pubs with large enough car parks to fit in 40 odd Zeds

So I say if there are sufficient number that want a national meet you could then throw it open as the venue.... although coventry is fairly central of course

The option as I see it Tony is either Coventry every year, or alternate it each year with a different venue on the alternative years.

Everything was organised real cool. But i would stay away from that general public. Riding bikes touching everything trying to get into cars. No thanks. No more free shows for me

You were in a bit of a vonerable position tbh weren't you, right in the end of the row in the open.

It was a great event, well organised well attended esp considering the weather. I do think though if it was every year it wouldn't be the same. Variety is the spice of life and all. Certinatly the central location was helpful, despite the dreadfull weather it still didn't take that long to drive the 150 miles each way.

It's a "yes" from me - although I think we should vary the location a bit....

.....But the idea of a 300zx show at a similar location - where there is another attraction aside from the cars - is a great idea!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Sorry you feel like that. You should have said on the day and I would have moved you to a different spot.

I suppose you always have to be vigilant where the public is concerned. There was a slightly strange looking bloke eyeing up our picnic. But you're gonna get that wherever you go. Same in a pub car park. At least there were enough of us there to be watchful and look out for each others cars. It was great to meet some people from further afield as well as catching up with familiar faces. One central big meet a year would be a great idea.

That's irrelevent

It's always going to be a chance one has to take when exhibiting in such a public location - the thing is, do you decide to participate or don't you?

On the whole, from what I saw, the passing public were pretty impressed with the cars on display. Some folks visiting the museum even had the courtesy to ask whether they could take photos of the cars - but I did not spot any visitor to the location posing a threat to any of the cars on display. Someone will, no doubt, correct me if I'm wrong!!

I don't see how you can say that, Rolands felt uncomfortable with his car being subjected to some close up attention from joe public. The other ends of the lines were semi enclosed by a wall or etc, obviously most cars had a car on at least two sides, many three. Which meant bicycles couldn't be ridden round it etc. His car was open to the main through fare of public footfall, which was just an unlucky draw anyone could have ended up there. As Lexx already said if he felt uncomfortable, he should have said and he could have been moved.

If Roland's felt uncomfortable in the location he was in, which I cant understand, in the open and venerable, he's entitled to feel that way. I'm fairly sure you were not actually there? I was, I saw where he was parked and I spoke to him at the event. The VAST majority of the public were spot on, I am however pretty sure if some one made you feel uncomfortable with your cars safety you would also be un-amused. Thankfully we all had a nice incident free day and enjoyed ourselves that is really what matters.

I must admit I did have my eye on one or two undesirables that were lurking/stumbling around, that is unfortunately part of life these days. Fortunately as far as I'm aware there wasn't any issues.

I was at the end of the line nearest to the bus stop, the car was only open when I was close to it, other than that it was locked but that would be the case where ever the meeting was, I thought it was a good venue and would not mind making it an annual meeting. If there is a next time I would prefer to travel up Saturday morning (me and my wife traveled up Friday evening) in convoy, just to make it more of a day out and a convoy to a local pub ( I mean place of interest ) before we make our way home.

I voted Yes.

Just luck of the draw isn't it. I think il stay Friday night next year so much more time to catch up with people that way.

Definitely yes for me, I added my compliments on another thread,

I think a National dedicated event is the answer. This was a 25th anniversary (they don't come round every year!) and despite pledges of 60+ cars we managed just over 40. Despite missing 20 or so cars the event was great with the added distraction of the museum that made it a good day out.

Do local events get these numbers? Lets face it at a 30th anniversary we may struggle to fill a phone box. If you ever look at the "How many are there left" site you'll see there are less of us every year.

I think a yearly National event with a northern or southern venue in alternate years to share the pain then no one has any complaints (apparently!)

I'm into the scooter scene too and there are monthly rallies all over the country with extra local events nearly every weekend but everyone aims to get to THE National on the Isle of Wight on the August Bank Holiday
