Help! found some problems after routing round engine bay

Hi all,

I bought the zed a couple of months gauged not really paid much attention to the engine bay.

I noticed a few extra wiring looms but nothing stood out that needed attention.

Today i was I went to change over my battery stay for a shiney new one.

1. I found what looks like a boost hose not connected to anything...possible a removed boost gauge?

2. Beside the battery I found what looks like a relay or solinoid...I've traced the cable's 1 set goes to the water pipes that looks like a sensor was installed. The other set goes across the bulkhead towards the boost solinoids and window wiper relay that looks like it goes to the wing.

I'm guessing this was some sort of sensor or gauge setup?

3. The car was sold to me as being chipped by SE Nissan being chipped would that be the reason the O2 sensors have been disconnected?

I know SE Nissan done some weird and wonderful stuff to zed back in the day.

Can anyone tell me what to do with the boost pipe? Block it off or connect it to?

Thanks Dan

Has it got an electric fan?

O2 sensors are probably duff, better to disconnect em' to stop weird signals to the ECU.

Is the boost/vac hose open?-if so then it needs blanking.

Hi thanks for the quick reply.

Normal oem fan fitted also the pipe is open it looks like it's snapped off a connector or something.

I'd be loosing alot of boost right?

the boost pipes are connected in a way that they bleed off boost so the wast gates open up later .. its another way of doing it .. instead of using a MBC or EBC look at the end pipe u will see it will have a little restriction in it

Broken Relay i would take a guess at that something to do with Lights .. Prob HID's

Sensor port/blank on the water pipe.. odd one

So i should leave the boost pipe?

I've got another weird cable that runs off the battery positive then goes across the bulkhead down the side of the engine then pops up behind the power steering pot and splices into the loom beside the 4ws solinoid?

Are you sure that's not an SE Nissan boost jet mod. It's looks very similar to what I had on my first zed?? I could be completely wrong.

I'm hoping so. I can only find the 1 pipe that's not connected to anything did you have 1 either side for each turbo?

I have around 14psi of boost

i would leave it untill your ready to fit an EBC ... as boost will be only upped to 10>12psi at a guess

both tubs should be joined together or have the same Mod on both sides

One jet pipe branching off one of the vacuum pipes that run along the rear of the plenum joining both sides iirc.

The internal diameter of that pipe looks like it could be off one of the small pipes in front of the battery going to the inner wing?

Jason farrow and his cousin are both the same has that vacum hose not connected, boost upgrade and both done at se nissan I think so maybe thata just the way they did it...

Redundant multi plugs on the off side inner wing next to the hicas valve would sugest the car was originally an auto.

Post 8 Pic one .. that plug and wire is part of the main Auto harness thats been chopped up and used for the Manual conversion thats been done on your car

So does that wire still need to be connected? The other end must run to the gearbox I guess. Why would it be fused also?

That you will have to investigate as I don't see any reason why they be fused wire on that loom relating to the gear box ...

Thanks for the help every one.

I removed the cable's that went into the wing and to the front of the engine via the fuse and it's not seemed to make any difference.

Also disconnected the cable wired in to the harness beside the hicas solinoid that was thought to be wired to trick the auto ecu in to think the car was in park and made no difference either the car started up fine.

Just a little confused what they was doing now?
