So its finally happening after been off the road for well over a year the zed is on Target for its refurbishment.

Last year I started with doing all the underbody suspension stuff to make the ride more stable and after that

I decided I wanted to do a full strip down to the bare shell and start from scratch to create a show quality z32.

After much bad luck and many thousands of pounds wasted on rotted zeds i'm cracking on with the original plan.

So as a quick update i'll post some older picks followed over the next few weeks by an overall progress report.

Starting off with how she was when I first purchased her 3 years ago until the state she is now then showing the

strip down and all the bad luck I've had.

So here she is as I bought her :

Hi Lee, I was at funky rims/planet performance last week getting some tyres fitted to my 5 series wagon. I know Oz who mentioned he had a few 300zx customers. Have to say the purple on the focus is lovely and will look good on the zed.

Hello Lee, I'll need to pop down and see the finished article, that's if you don't mind! Might inspire me to get the things that I need done started at least.

Regards

Great choice of colour. Looks like its in safe hands too. Nice one

More parts just ordered from z1,

ordered a left hand side cruise stalk, new links for the throttle bodies and

new rubbers for all my hard pipes.

I was the reason they brought a load of those in from Japan! I had bugged Jon for years over it!

Had mine in a few years now. You'll need to faff about with the wiring as the connectors don't match. But it's pretty easy.

New engine loom has arrived from the states and my first big order with MJP was just placed.

New loom looks the biz and has detachable components from the main loom so like of the injectors

and coil pack connectors can be replaced separately from the main loom without soldering which is cool.

i'll get I pic up tonight of it.

well i purchased the main loom, gearbox loom and a new det sensor loom so its cost me $765.25 which is about £449.63.

Then on arrival to the UK customs charges was £44.

Its a big cost but as i'm doing a full rebuild i thought it was worth doing it all.

So all in for the three looms was just under £500 posted.

How much did the loom work out at, including shipping, tax etc?

Not much update on my zed but the other car in getting the same colour I also wanted was

close to completion so I snapped this picture to give an idea of what mine could look like :

Its House of Kolors Kandy Purple !

I believe its a black base coat with Kandy Purple over the top.

When you look at it in normal light it looks very dark and close to black.

Only when the light hits it like the pic above does it change to very bright purple.

It looks really nice. I do like the kandy colours, for a 'custom' type paint, they're really nice. It's metaflake that I can't stand. Kandy paints are always smooth and pleasing to the eye. Looking forward to seeing this painted!
