well people some very honest people on here. seems the so called cheap buy 300zx in the real world is very expensive to own and run .for the money we have put in to are cars you could have got a tvr 500 a Porsche 911 3.8 for around 25k on a 06 plate. a m6 a m3 a merc sl500 amg ect... but lets face it if you had any of them you would be in the same boat making them go faster and changing stuff. like I did before I got a 300zx I have modded many car inc bwm lotus Porsche 2 super bikes and few classics what sets the 300 aside from them in the sheer endless mods and parts around to fit to them the cars I did before have very limited part to play with so I would say from what I have seen the 300zx is one of the best cars to own for the guy who wants to tinker and change stuff very expensive but fook it your a long time dead lets build some great car,

I wouldn't want too think what cash iv put in the car over the 2 years of owning one and there still lots more I want too do but I don't care where I live it's the only one so it's very unique and it get compleaments

not the cheapest car to mod is it that's for sure

The current Zed (no.2) only owes me 4-5k in total (2k for the original and about 2-3k in mods, servicing etc.). So, for the smile factor and uniqueness, it is the best Jap car I have had for the money. I have had S15 Spec R, S14a, R33GTR, 350GT, Mitsi VR4 and they all cost me loads more to run, modify and love and although the Mitsi VR4 Legnum was the best car ever designed for living with (280bhp+, 4wd and estate), it was let down by 15-17mpg always and by looking like a brick on wheels. The Zed looks like a sports car, feels like a sports car and performs like one. It gives me more satisfaction cleaning it, learning about it and restoring it than any of the past Jap cars I have had. Priceless! (Well - until it goes wrong anyway!)

There was a Zed on here which was sold a few years back for about £7k ish. The original owner had about £57k in it !!!
