Just purchased a gearbox off kieran on here so I need to know what I need , like gaskets? Or anything else. If the box is dry from oil how much is the total amount required and is there a special way to fill it as some needs to be in the torque convertor ... cheers guys

I was informed on here that 3.5 liters was just the amount u put in when you drain the sump but the rest is in the torque convertor. Please dont tell me ive been putting 3.5 liters in the box just from draining? ? Maybe that is my problem? ? That link is the exact guide I follwed groover but when I get this gearbox how would i know if there is any oil remaining in the torque convertor

I seem to remember there being a damn site more gearbox oil than that, I had to pour about 7 litres in mine.

You are right its 7.7 litres

When you get your new box there should be no oil in the torque convertor as it was removed from a car, it only holds fluid when in situe in the box in the car.

It actually says in that guide, "around five litres will come out" and to fill it with 3.5 litres run it up and slowly fil and check the level.
