Well i've had my new zed for a few weeks with no real issues, overall she's drove as sweet as a nut. Only small issue was slight hesitation (when warm) putting it into a gear, revs drop any nearly stalls, (did a few times)

Well today she's been fine, then i take her out about an hour ago and all hell brakes loose. i feel like the engine is running on rusty nuts and bolts, its missing or misfiring badly, and i mean badly, i daren't stop incase it stalls and wont start. Only thing i can say happened is before i went i was looking down the back of the engine, between engine and bulkhead where there are big looms and a connector , positioned vertical. whilst moving the looms, i'm not positive but maybe a change in engine note happened, going from 6 to 3 maybe..i dunno, maybe i'm clutching at straws.

Anybody help please..

for a guess you need a rewire and new connectors on the coil pack connectors and injectors connectors both are notorious for this if they havent been done

new set of each with pig tails wire them in chances are it will fix the problem seen this so many times

YEAH!!!! She Lives on 6!!!

Well I have fixed (sort of) my misfiring..coil packs, spark plugs, injectors,o2 sensor,tps...no, none of these.. you know I said I was fiddling about with the loom, well I was looking at it and thought "moving the loom caused it, moving it back might fix it", so I grabbed it and bent it back the other way. low and behold the note changed and she was back on 6.

Fixed..as I said, sort of. now some say if it aint broke don't fix it... but if I go delving in I may disrupt other things. But something is wrong and part of me really wants to get it sorted.

Watch this space..

If you need a plug in message me. Been busy trying to sort mine out but you drove past me yesterday in Melbourn and it sounded Ok then.

Look at my reply to DazVerts' No 4 cylinder issue, sounds like what I had especially if you moved the loom and it went away.

Remember these cars are 20+ years old and solder joints, terminal joints etc WILL break if moved, if you look at my picture of the loom that i had to bend back to "fix" the problem, you can see that it has had some work done on it, there is a 4-5 inch section wrapped in electrical tape, there is definitely some splicing gone on in there..

should i go in and check it out...might have to as i may need to access the yellow connector at the back of the engine further towards the battery.

I checked it with my spare car and yes, there is some tape, but looking at it it goes further along and i can tell its been done after,
