Hello guys

Just a bit of advice please took my zx on its first long run the other day all was fine until I took it over 70mph. White smoke was bellowing out. This last for about 5 secs and then it was ok for about 10-15 mins and then again a more few times. There was also a slight smell of what think was oil. There is no reduction in power. The oil pressure gauge appears normal. I was considering taking it up to Jeff at zed world to give it good once over.

Thanks

Lou

that might just be a good idea....

it could be a few things... but I would hazard a guess at turbo oil seals... (mind you that is only a guess). :)

could also just be the PCVs, now that would be a nice cheap quick fix..

some other possibles are much worse... good luck.

Hi Lou, before getting too worried what you were seeing may not of been coming from the exhausts! its possible oil or water leak under pressure is been blown under the car and out of the back, seen this a few time. The only way to be sure after checking all levels is to get a mate to follow you and see if it actually coming from the exhaust or not, fingers crossed it something not too bad.

I booted my old zed once and smoked out the bloody motorway, thought something bad had happened looked under bonnet and dip stick was out a bit pushed it back in and it never did it again must have not pushed it right in...

Might just be the first time it's got hot, hot in a while and cleared out some crap. I could also be more sinister and a little but of an investigation is always prudent with these cars.

Have a quick look at the oil filler cap, oil level, coolant level and coolant condition. Equally have a good look round the back of the engine when running for signs of leaks or steam/smoke.

Thanks for all the advice I've checked the oil, coolant and the caps and all seem ok. I think a bit investigation is needed on my part.It is a non turbo so that can be eliminated. Thanks again.
