Does anyone know where I can get replacement seals/gaskets for the balance bar?

I have a hissing from the RH side of the end of the balance bar even with the bolts really really tight.

The rubber gaskets/seals look old and are probably hard too.

If any has any spare ones, or knows the size, shore hardness and spec of them that would be appreciated also.

Cheers,

Greg

The correct size and thickness o rings are available from Nissan but are pricey. Universal o ring kits will do the job.

In the meantime some RTV silicone will seal up your existing o rings.

Next time you're in one of the pound shops pick up a box of these, as I've just checked through both of mine and found plenty of the smaller ones 23ODmm and I even found a larger one 39ODmm, I am just one short of the larger size to send you a set of 3 as I'll be needing some.

Btw, the ID is roughly 5mm less as the walls are 2mm or 2.5mm thick.

And if you carefully cut out a few mm on some more you would get many more to fit with adding a touch of silicone as well .

ID and thickness added.

Wasn't there a thread in recent months about "ordinary" rings deteriorating very rapidly and causing leaks? Or did I imagine it...??

It's a placebo thing, if you don't pay through the nose for something then it must be rubbish, some take solace in paying a lot for practically the same product :hammer:.

How right you are, applies to many things other than zed bits too.

With rubber O rings you have to take into account temperature ratings.

If they are not Viton then they will not last.

General plumbing seals may measure up right but will not stand up to the heat.

If your over Poole way mate pop into Ashley power and get some ones rated to spec, done. They are "0"ring and bearing specialists.
