Hello amigos, some of you might have spotted my earlier thread asking for some history about this Zed, after some digging and viewing I decided to buy her :)

My name is Natalie, i'm from Blyth near Newcastle in the NE of England, I drove a Honda Integra DC5 as my daily but i've been after a RWD summer fun car for a while, this lovely lady came along and I was smitten

She was a trade-in to JM Imports, got her for an absolute bargain. Drove her straight to get new tyres on the front as they were badly needed and going to book her MOT next week, She is NA manual with a remap, BC suspension

As far as I can tell she is somewhat well known and might have been spotted at Japfest etc.

No dis-respect to her previous owner but there are some major changes I am making to get her to how I want her. I'm going to remove the sound system entirely (sorry..I appreciate hard work has gone into this but I really do not like them..not for me and can think of better things to use the money for), strip out the rear seats and get harnesses in, bought 99 spec rear lights and will be putting them in shortly as well as a smooth nose panel. Also may eventually swap the wheels for plain black spoke or chrome alloys.

I also should point out she will eventually be taken to Teesside and surrounding areas for drifting. I was told by a few members that this would not go down well..but I am very opinionated on cars- there will always be someone who doesn't like what you do with your own, but it's your car to do with as you please. She has 89k on the clock, I suspect this is in KM, it's time this little lady got out and saw some of the world :)

She's immaculate underneath, drives like an absolute dream, no bumps or noises. Needs new passenger door seal, paint and trim has not been well looked after (she's a respray from silver) so will be giving her a fill polish and wax next weekend. Also got a high level wing coming next month to go on. I love BGW

I'm absolutely over the moon today and so so happy to finally be a Zed owner :D Praying tomorrow is sunny and warm so I can get the roof panels off and go for a nice long drive. Onto the pictures, apologies they are such bad quality I will get a proper shoot of her with my DSLR once she's tidied up:

Welcome Natalie!

99 spec rear lights and a smooth nose panel and that car will look really sweet. :)

Cheers all, looking forward to getting more active on the forum, as I said I've admired these cars for some time..never thought one would be in my reach and budget so easily so feeling quite chuffed to have snapped one up

Good on you. Although not a popular choice as a drift car the z is perfectly capable, esp in a 2+2 na format. Some extra lock will help out a lot.

Nice car :thumbup1: This forum is the place to be, a lot of members who know what they're talking about and the sort of people that will drive across country to give you a PTU or a shock absorber in a crisis.

Fantastic link Z32bolt, it's given me a whole heap of ideas :)

No worries. If your serious about sliding it then cowpatmatt is a semi pro drifter, nort in the forums often but worth speaking to. Quite a few US guys drift them.

Here's Matt in action;

Cheers :) I was lucky enough to catch Matt sliding about at BDC Round 1- Going to try and catch him at Japfest for a good chat about all things 300zx drifting, appreciate the nod though helps to find these things in a bit of niche scene

congrats Nats, yer have to agree the rear lights i like the nose but the wheels would be better if chrome outer and white insides or chrome. even though i have black wheels i dont think they suit white. that said well done and like the front aswell sweet.

Hi Natalie,

Congrats on your purchase,,, I know this car and the previous owner,,you have made a fantastic choice with this Z

Can I be really really cheeky and ask if anyone is on Facebook they could spare 5 minutes to have a look through my photography and supprt the page if they like what they see? Expect some proper pictures of Zed soon :) It's mostly drifting events (full BDC coverage), Car shows (Jpfest, JAE, Trax) and static local car shoots (if anyone local wants a shoot feel free to message me!)

wow impressive camera skills you have got welcome to the club Natalie and what a stunning zed that is

Hello Nat, glad you got the zed, will be nice to have another number for the north east meets.

I've always thought it would be nice to have a blast round Teesside track, I'd be too concerned about getting it home from any others but I could push it from Teesside if it blew up.

As for static shoots, I'd love some good photos of mine, i've had a dream of getting one blown up on a big canvas for my wall. we may have to work something out.

Anyway welcome again and happy Zeding.

Just a small update from today- tackled some of the things that were not to my taste-

Removed the white carbon wrapping from the pillars and roof panels, wasn't the best job and were very grubby. The last owner had wrapped the driver pillar in black carbon (which i've left as it looks good) and left the passenger pillar standard gloss black, and then wrapped both in white as well as the roof panel frame. It looks like he's damaged the passenger roof panel as i've ripped the white carbon off and the panel is blue underneath..so going to get that sprayed white and the passenger pillar in black carbon so everything matches and my OCD can be appeased

Removed the cardboard ferrari centre caps on the wheels (because..it's not a Ferrari..)

Replaced the 'Ferrari' lights with 99' spec ones all polished up and shiny

Few things to fix, speedo is massively out, got a feeling it's still in KM. Passenger seal is still an issue as letting in rain..but seems like the window is actually bending out of place and pushing it out so need to get that checked out. The steering has had a few moments of being fairly heavy most of the drive then suddenly becoming very very loose but hasn't affected the actual steering ability of the car. Will need to look into this one I think. She's getting there!

OMG what a beauty, and from my old stomping grounds, used to live in Gosforth and Cramlington and went to Blyth pool... When you get rid of the horrible looking piece of mangled plastic called a front panel, i might be able to take it off your hands so you wont need to look at it anymore.... promise i wouldn't charge you to much..
