**CANCELLED** Easter Saturday meet - Cheddar Gorge

Just throwing out a tentative plan for a quick Easter weekend meet at Cheddar Gorge, or possibly Chew Valley Lake.

I am up for either, if anyone else wants to come along, that would be great. The good weather is expected to remain, so it would be nice to make the most of it.

Hi Si, what a great idea, l am up for that, sadly my Nissan will not be the sporty type at a couple of tons, but still would be a meet up. Currently the 350 is sorn.

I'm doing an event locally on the friday, and I was planning on another in my area on the Sunday although that's looking less likely due to work loads.

Otherwise I woulda come up, the gorge has been on my list for a while.

Still come along Steve if you can! John, be good to see you in whatever if you're about. Looks like it'll be The Gorge!

My cars in the garage for some TLC otherwise I would have been in.

No worries Andy.

Due to complete lack of interest, this is cancelled.

Reality check Si this is not the US, and despite the real passion for zeds we have a different culture here and attitude to leisure activities, check out US style football its a family affair with stadiums full of compliant fans just out to enjoy the day, here you see reports of even under eleven games ending up in punch ups between parents! local car meets are low on the list of most family guys priorities.

Economics must pay a part too with R & R been taken seriously by American`s too, we work the longest hours in the developed world according to many studies and with family time been squeezed to a minimum in recent years with the country situation as a whole.

Don`t think there is any less real passion here, proof of this was in spadefuls (literally) when some years ago we did a Zedworld Christmas bash one Winter and it was something like -5C and we still had 40 cars turn up! take heart Si and owners sure good times will be back.

For future meets Si why not open it up to the 350/370 crowd?

Quick an easy way to get the numbers up whilst still keeping it in the family.

As Jeff says, the thing about Bank Holiday weekends is that many folk have wife/kids and are committed to spending it with them. Especially on such short notice.

I've acted as REO for over 10 years now, and have learned to either avoid Bank Holidays or start organising them 6 months in advance.

Zed #2: 1998 Midnight Purple 2+2 NA. (owned 2020 - now)

Zed #1: 1995 Blue Slicktop NA (2013-2015)

something like this would of been of interest to me but certain things dictate what i can can't do, for example bank holiday weekend i work fri/sat/sun night just leaving monday free , plus i'm not putting the zed back out till may this year

Well I kinda decided on the Saturday as it was not the Easter Sunday where people would be with their families.

Jeff, with all due respect, what on earth has the US got to do with a monthly meet that I am arranging around Chew Valley Lake or Cheddar Gorge? We have had plenty of meets there before. I agree with what else you say, but not sure where you draw the correlation to what I do in the US with a 'typical' monthly UK meet..

Wind your neck in feller I was on your side that you may be disappointed with the meet not getting enough interest, and as you often mention that in the US meets are both better attended and have more going on, just makes you the common denominator that`s all, but that`s my card marked then :nelson:

Real shame, very little interest has been shown for bournemouth wheels festival coming up fast, which I will likely at this rate have to cancel.

I attended wheels day in Guildford today, mostly yank stuff. One lonely 240 and a twin turbo 350. I left mine at home due to fuel costs atc and we went up in an old audi 80 my friend owns.

Last year was pretty good attendance wise, this year although early it seems much harder work. :(

It's the Bristol Motorshow next weekend at Cribbs Causeway. If anyone is up for that.....

I was quite tempted, the vert got its mot this week, and its one of not many days off. But it's a long way to go so only really worth it if others show up.

What/ when's the Bournemouth ?

I didn't even realise the Guildford one was on, although the few times I,ve gone to dunes fold I,ve had to queue for hours to get in
