Well today I was doing some bits to the boot trim and noticed someone has pulled off the end of my O/S rear quarter window rubber...... was there last week.....

and the N/S lower window trim is bent out as though someone has tried prying it out...... Sooooo annoyed as these were in reasonable condition......

Now it looks horrible.... why would anyone do this.....

 

Anyone have these that I could buy???

 

They're actually bonded to the rear quarter seals, so if you bought some, you'd have the same issue. Best bet is to lay masking tape over the bonded seal area and use black silicone. Smooth it off with a wet finger and take off the masking. It should leave you with something that looks like it did when it was new.

For reference, it should look like this, moulded into the seal. Generally, when you'd replace the lower trim, you'd peal up the bond and reseat it on the new trim (non-OEM as Nissan will only supply you the rear quarter complete). Your seal has broken leaving you only one option which I stated above....otherwise it's new/replacement rear quarter window time....

I managed to bugger mine up when I took them off, ripped the seal just like you did:(

Hi If you decide to replace the window with seal rather than repair then i Can prob sell you one at a decent price will have to check condition of seal etc as carn't remember but its defo better than your one get in touch if your planning doing this.

That doesn't really make sense. You have to repair that area with sealant and nothing else. That actual seal is bonded to the rear quarter, you have to slice it off with a knife and it messes up the seal as it's rubber/metal composite or are you talking about the lower trim?

 

Mine are all fine and new-looking, but I am asking on behalf of the other guys. :)

I think he's offering to replace the whole window with a decent seal still attached.

Pretty sure Russ's car is a UK car and needs blue-glass. Just something to be mindful of.

I used Tiger seal on mine.

I got some off a scrapper :)

It`s possible someone thought about popping your window russ..stupid but they generally are. If it`s any consolation i`m in the same boat. Mine just rotted off. A silicone repair looks like the best option

I think it was a neighbour...... had a few problems since moving here and he was spotted on my driveway by back of my car....... Same neighbour that did my car tyres everyday for over 3 months.....

He Keeps encouraging his dog use my front step and driveway as a toilet...... Soon be fitting metal plate under door matt and connecting to an old flyback transformer from TV....

Next time it pee's or pooh's on my doorstep it will regret it...... lol

I couldn't do it really....... just going to fit induction aerial on fence instead to make his hearing aid humm........ could transmit drum and base so only his hearing aid picked it up.......lol
