Hi all, Chris here. Just bought my first zed and it's the best move of my life. Took after my dad who owns a lwb auto twin tub (user SimAx on here I believe), went for a manual imported in 2006 for myself and couldn't be happier!

I look forward to making some friends here, both sharing and sponging knowledge and progress. So please say hi!

Cheers

It's always about the banter haha!!

Gary, I'm from Ballyclare. You may recognize my zed in fact. Paul Alcorn owned it before me (lives close to oxford) and pointed me in your direction! And a get together sounds an awesome idea to me guys!

You bet Stephen we need a get together as soon as this weather improves.

You are not to far from me in Belfast then Chris. So tell us more about your Z and any pics?

Well, she's pretty standard as she sits mechanically. Still has the HICAS much to my dismay. I find when giving her the message it can make handling her a little unpredictable, so taking her easy right now lol. The poor weather also contributing to the hesitant right foot!

I do have a lockout kit to fit however, so that's first on my list.

I have no idea the actual power output, though previous owner claimed close to 400bhp. I was hoping to dyno her at the ECC rolling road day this saturday, but that has been cancelled.

She has the Wings West front bumper and skirts and extended rear bumper which I quite like the look of together. There are a few minor cosmetic issues of course. De-wipered on the rear and blended in spoiler lip.

It was love at first sight let me tell you!

I'll get some photo's together for you.

Welcome to the club and Gary can now start building his NI meets nicely now, look forward to some pics:thumbup:

First question for you guys....am I able to upload photo's saved to my computer? When using the "insert image" button, it will only allow me to insert a URL?

Hi and welcome to the forum, another member from NI for you Gary, things are going well in that direction for you now.

Is there not a tab next to the URL tab that says from computer?

It should work Chris but I always use photobucket to download pics. But try the insert image first using the tab from computer.

Hmmmm? I don't appear to have another option to upload from computer. Perhaps I don't have this option yet due to being a new user? Only allows me to insert a url. That or I am being a total technophobe!

I'll try photo bucket :surrender:

Welcome bud. Most members will know Paul by his username of Pablito. Enjoy the car.

welcome to the z ring!! think you have to be a subscribed member to upload pics. either way get some pictures up!!! :thumbup1:

Just reading through that thread, it was the day after Paul posted it that my dad and sister went to collect it for me, and hold it until I could get across the water to pick it up. Had to beat his other viewers to it cos I knew she'd be a case of first to see will buy!!

I've been through some private sales before, but with Paul it was something quite different. I didn't get to meet him in person unfortunately, but the length and detail that man went into for me, and the honesty in his specification etc was unreal. I really knew from the ground up what I was getting without even seeing it.

I was so sure of it that I offered him his asking price before I'd been able to view, simply because I was so worried someone would beat me to it. He even refused that as he wanted me to make sure I knew what I was getting and kept his word of first refusal. A top bloke without a doubt!

Hell it looks like we might have to get a posse together and get on the ferry for a weekend on the emerald isle in the near future and spread some zed lovin.

Hard to get good honest people when selling cars is involved but yes Paul is a top block. I bought my SWB in England and after a lot of phone calls I flew over to find it as described and drove it home to Belfast. The owner was not a member here but was a true car enthusiast and cherished the car so still very happy with it.

You all would be more than welcome mate.:thumbup1:

Think we will wait till the wind dies down a bit first though i dont like boats unless im in scuba gear.
