how to make fuel tank fume free and safe

I have removed the fuel tank from my car and will be getting powder coated soon I have washed the tank out a few times with soapy water and let it sock so but is there a better way to make the tank safe and fume free ?

I would fill it slowly with water and leave to stand, this should in turn drive any remaining fumes out.

It will also help remove any remaining detergent.

I would purge it with nitrogen but seing thats going to be a big no no at such short notice, then ill pass you back to lee, sory i cant be more help.

I wasn't there today.....PMSL.....Nah, your tea boy minion does an excellent job, but he's a busy boy too, and can't always answer the phone.....lol

yes washed it out 3 times with water a some soap stuff then let it over flow with water for like 20mins then filled it up again let it soak then drained it then dryed it all out with a hair dryer
