Noel, Ill never fiddle with it, so having an internal controller fitted, I am guessing thats just for show? may as well just get a manual controller?

Whats the general costs of a manual v electronic?

Any other benefits between the two?

hi Noel

to up the boost on your manual controller as fitted to mine..is it turned clockwise or counterclockwise when looking down at it from the top...

i know you had major issues with getting mine to hold boost .....still havnt cured that by the way ..any more thoughts on it ??

steve

Screw it down into the body(clockwise ) to increase boost (extra load on the spring) Steve....What i have found and ime sure Noel wont mind me saying so is the thread pitch on the preload bolt is a little on the corse side and can leak a bit on boost..but having said that its easily cured by wrapping PTFE tape on the thread to seal the bolt into the brass body. Could be your problem mate not substaining boost and also easliy checked by taking the inlet side off and feeding a bar of pressure from a compresser with soapy water on the valve body and check for bubbles between the nut and washer/body.

i dont know much about tubs but what i do know, if your trying to wind up or get more boost out of your already tired tubs then its going to have to work harder to get to the boosting demands you keep keying in, i suggest like alot of pepole already do on here, is to protect the life of your tubs and engine, unless you know what you have got, and how to use it, leave it well alone or like my turned of, the last time i played with mine and because i didnt know what the hell i was doing after a weekend i done an oil seal on my tub and had to pull the engine. You have been warned.!

i have a fresh fully forged engine rebuild with cometic gaskets mike smith manifolds HUGE border front mount intercooler ARP studs and bolts stage 2 heads ported and polished ( allegedly ) 555 injectors and PE1420 brand new tubbies

i think the issue is in the way the PE1420's waste gate opens and seals ? its aris about face to other tubs or so ive been told

anyone else on here have issues with PE1420's

steve
