Just a query really - does anyone on here re-spray cars? I have a bumper which needs to go on my car and stop cluttering up my lounge, but it's currently black...and my baby's red. :)

The guy who painted my car had a Ferrari, he said my car would look much better thna his Ferrari when it was finisheed. he was right too. The then proceeded to show me all the parts he wasn't happy with about Ferrari's paint job.

 

Paint work isn't something that you would want to get done cheaply IMO.

Most would say that I payed way over the top, but the car does look bloody amazing and better that any stock paintwork I have seen so far.

 

Your always better off spending too much than spending too little.

The pain of spending too much diminishes over time and your

left with something better. Spending too little lasts forever as you have to live with the limitations associated with it.

Plus if your unhappy, you may end up going back and spending the big bucks anyway. Then you'd be out even that much more.

I'll post some pics of my Z that has just been sprayed by Pete later tonight.

 

It's stayed silver and I have to say the quality is way better than the original Nissan coating.

The clear lacquer coat looks like glass in the light.

I am seriously impressed.

Just needs the rear hatch and front bumper spraying before I get it back.

 

Vijay, If your Z is going in next week you may well get to see mine before it leaves and I'm sure it will give you a lot of confidence in Pete's skills.

Cost wise what are we looking at here. for a same colour respray?

Having closly inspected my car now i think since the company ballsed it up, i think its time earyl next year for a respray.

I think he charges about £900 for a full respray but could be wrong. I just got a total price for the whole job doing.

I'm looking at getting the my car kitted with skirts and spoiler but the fitting and spaying that Zcenter charge is a little high.

 

Can you find out (unles you already told us and I missed it) how much he would charge to paint the skirts and spoiler ?. I'm not sure if these need to be on the car first I imagine they will.

Hopefully Pete is not selling just that orange flip as it looks naff, IMHO... :)

The side skirts are Veilside ones but they have had the rear end chopped off and blended into the scoops that come with the wide arches.

 

Got them from Z Centre £300, but after having them on order for over 6 months JayPSC lent me his. (Mucho thanks again mate!) Mine are meant to be going to Jay now but I still don't think he has received anything after what must be 9 months from me ordering...

To do a decent job of fitting them and blending them in I would think you would need to have the whole side sprayed?

Suppose you could spray them and fix them on but doubt if they would look like they were part of the car. Same for spoiler really.

They are in Sunderland but well worth travelling for a good job.

 

Z Centre wanted about £4500 to fit and paint my kit - it was half that at PPS and it's a far better job from what I've seen. Wouldn't have been able to afford to have all this done other than at PPS.

simpathy from me to you pal i have a auto got it off

the internet from japan . now going on 2 years .. came with

94k kph and now have around 106k .

water pumnp went after a year , so did the 60k job

 

timing belt the works . radaiator sprung a leak . so bought

 

one from courtesy .. welll my fingers are crossed

 

. hope my auto box . stays sane..

 

 

regardless still love the zed . the only one on my island.

 

the other guys are scared shit of it .. they have honda shitts

 

integ. and preludes . not in my class..
